Many Christians seem to fall into one of two camps – either making politics a “God” and elevating it above all else – or choosing to “stay out of it” because God’s got it anyway.
While both extremes are wrong, and unbiblical – we’re going to address the latter today and remind you why it’s important to vote.
So, if you haven’t voted already – or even if you have – this article is a must read.
To start – it is true God is sovereign – and He knows exactly what is going to happen in tonight’s midterm election.
And as Daniel 2:21 reminds us “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
Some Christians think it means they can just “sit back” or “stay out of politics” and God will do as He wishes.
But it doesn’t work like that!
We are entrusted with the privilege and right to cast our vote to elect the leader we feel most aligns with our belief system.
Countless lives were lost to give us the freedom to vote – a right not every country has even to this day.
And to sit back and let those who want to ram through an LGBT agenda or expand abortion would be reckless on the part of a Christian.
Letting evil run unchecked or ignoring what’s happening in the world because it’s “someone else’s problem” is simply not an option for a Christian.
The stakes are too high.
Whether we love the system or hate it – it is politicians who make laws and legislate how we will live in society.
And if people get elected to office who don’t care about protecting unborn babies or about stopping “transgender” policies from infiltrating our schools – then the world as we know it will continue down its dark downward spiral.
The truth is, elections have consequences.
To pretend that it “doesn’t really matter” is a form of deception.
While we are not in control of the outcome of the election – each Christian must do their part and cast their vote.
And when voting for a candidate, its crucial to research their positions – and not just listen to what they “say” they are going to do.
Christians don’t have the luxury to just “tune out” politics and not vote.
Future generations will be impacted by the leaders that are in office today making decisions.
So, if you haven’t voted – please make sure you do so today.
And contact your friends and loved ones and make sure they too vote for a candidate who will uphold Biblical truths while in office.
Our children’s lives are counting on it.
Do you think Christians should be involved in politics?
Do you plan to vote?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
