The state of Georgia truly believes life begins at conception – and elected officials are determined to protect the lives of unborn babies.
But leaders in Georgia took things even further – and introduced a new tax break for unborn babies.
You’ll feel so encouraged when you hear all the details.
With so much violence and hatred being spewed since the overturning of Roe v. Wade – it can be hard not to become discouraged.
Businesses are paying women to abort their babies.
Leftist politicians are attacking life-saving crisis pregnancy centers – even calling them “fake clinics.”
But even when things seem so dark – pro-lifers are using their influence to do good.
One Christian organization decided to award adoption credits to those seeking to adopt a baby or child.
And now in Georgia, new guidance has acknowledged that an unborn baby is still a life – and they are even willing to offer an individual income tax dependent exemption upon a detectable heartbeat for the baby!
The Christian Post reported:
“In guidance Monday by the Georgia Department of Revenue, the state will recognize “any unborn child with a detectable human heartbeat … as eligible for the Georgia individual income tax dependent exemption.”
Taxpayers with any unborn child or children between July 20 and Dec. 31 can claim exemptions of $3,000 for their 2022 individual income tax returns, according to the state.”
Praise the Lord!
This is an incredible precedent to set – to acknowledge that an unborn baby IS a human being – just not born yet.
If we can change the conversation in our nation and have people actually acknowledge that an unborn baby is a separate body, with their own heartbeat, and who deserves protection – perhaps things will shift.
Of course, abortion advocates were furious at the new Georgia ruling and fought back claiming that an unborn baby isn’t an actual person.
Planned Parenthood became enraged and called valuing the life of an unborn baby “horrific.”
The Christian Post continued:
“Following the 11th Circuit’s ruling, the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood released a joint statement calling the ruling “highly unorthodox” and “horrific.”
“This is a highly unorthodox action that will immediately push essential abortion care out of reach for patients beyond the earliest stages of pregnancy. Across the state, providers are now being forced to turn away patients who thought they would be able to access abortion, immediately changing the course of their lives and futures,” the statement read.
“This is horrific. We’ll continue doing everything in our power to fight for abortion access in Georgia in the face of these harmful attacks on people’s ability to control if and when to have a child.”
But as Christians – we know the true battle for life is spiritual – and it’s fought through prayer.
Unless hearts are changed there will always be those believing the lies of the enemy and devaluing human life.
Of course, as we pray for hearts to change, we must continue to also pray that those in positions of leadership will do good – and continue to pass life-saving legislation and policies to save the lives of unborn babies.
Cheers to Georgia for recognizing unborn babies!
Let’s hope more states will follow in their footsteps.
