When Marti Landis was only 15-years-old – she became pregnant due to her involvement with an older teen boy who bribed her for sexual acts.
But when she turned to her mother for help, both Marti’s own mother and “boyfriend” encouraged her to get an abortion – and even drove her to get it done.
And after years of trauma and a second coerced abortion – Marti has since given her life to Jesus and walked back into the burning house to rescue other women.
The biggest lie pro-aborts tell women is abortion is a “simple action” to “remove a problem”.
Of course, this lie isn’t true – as abortion is psychologically (and often physically) devastating to a woman’s soul – not to mention it kills an innocent baby.
But still, many young girls who become pregnant are scared and think abortion is their only option.
Others, like Marti, are pressured by authority figures in their life to kill their own baby.
When young Marti got her first abortion, she still shutters at the haunting memory of that tragic day.
Live Action reported:
“Landis said, “I remember hearing the clamping sounds and feeling pinches although I was doped up with nitrous oxide. Those sounds and feelings I experienced would remain with me for the rest of my life.”
Deeply scarred from the experience, Marti continued her toxic relationship with her older teen “boyfriend” – and became pregnant yet again.
This time, the “boyfriend” drove Marti to the abortion provider, and convinced her to kill her own baby.
Marti proceeded, and had her second abortion.
Although she had grown up in the church, she never had someone mentor her spiritually, so her relationship with God wasn’t fully developed.
Yet still, she was desperate for God to heal her, so despite her depression and trauma she continued to cry out to Him.
Live Action continued:
“Landis said, “I never wanted to have either of the abortions. Reaching out to the Lord one day, I asked Him to help me name my children who, He showed me, were a boy and a girl. But even though I asked for forgiveness, I found myself sinking downward into a dark hole. I tried everything to numb the pain and even contemplated suicide. But I had to keep going somehow.”
While she finally ended up getting away from this troubled “boyfriend” – she felt like used and damaged goods, and made another bad choice and married the wrong guy.
They divorced, and then Marti met another man named Jack who grew up in the church who ended up becoming her now husband.
Marti and Jack rededicated their lives to God – and continue to serve Him together as a team to this very day!
They’ve been married for 28 years, and together they have served all around the country helping others become closer to Jesus and break through strongholds.
Marti has even found ways to help other women heal from their abortions by leading a Bible study for post-abortive women and serving as the post-abortive coordinator for Pregnancy Care of Cincinnati.
In helping others heal emotionally from their abortions, she continued to heal herself.
Live Action continued:
“Landis said, “Feeling as if I was damaged goods was so hard to overcome. It is possible to be healed but it takes time and diligence. It took me years to be able to be vulnerable emotionally, physically, and intimately. Walking with God and reveling in His Word helps to break those walls of shame down. God can make all things new and beautiful.”
Amen!
What the enemy meant for harm, God redeemed and used for His glory.
Marti is a walking and living testimony of what it means to be broken, but not destroyed.
God restored her life, and healed her in ways she didn’t even know needed healed.
He can do the same for you too – if you cry out to Him and put your faith in Jesus.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
