As pro-abort states continue to pass legislation to expand abortion – pro-lifers are fighting back.
In Michigan, politicians included life-saving measures in their state budget like adoption credits and a campaign to promote alternatives to abortion.
But Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer used her power to veto these life-saving proposals – and you won’t believe what else she did.
It’s truly unbelievable that a Governor would choose to use their power to veto something as non-controversial as adoption credits.
For mothers who simply can’t care for or keep their children – adoption is a beautiful way to allow a child to have life – and grow up in a loving home.
Not to mention, many couples struggle with infertility and their prayers are answered once they are able to adopt a child and raise them as their own.
Both sides of the aisle should be in support of adoption – but Gretchen Whitmer just can’t stand the idea that women would actually give birth to their babies.
The obsession with pushing the abortion agenda is so strong, it’s causing people to actually support actions that will harm people.
One thing is certain – power placed in the wrong hands can have disastrous results – as Governor Whitmer proves.
Fox News reported:
“Her vetoes included $10 million for a marketing program promoting adoption over abortion, $3 million for organizations that promote “childbirth and alternatives to abortion,” and $100,000 designated for the legal defense of a ban on gender reassignment surgeries or therapies while people are in state prisons.”
Even more tragic, those who advocate for abortion claim that “nobody wants to help take care of these kids” – yet at the same time, they are actively working against those trying to come up with solutions to encourage women to follow through with their pregnancy.
Pregnant women need support – but instead they are being used as pawns in the middle of a culture war.
Not only did Gretchen Whitmer attack adoption – she actually went on to criticize life-saving crisis pregnancy centers, calling them “fake clinics.”
Whitmer’s spokesperson Bobby Leddy said Whitmer wants Michigan to remain a place where women can “make decisions” about their own bodies.
Of course, his statement said nothing about protecting the rights or the body of an unborn baby.
And then Leddy went on to also bash crisis pregnancy centers.
Michigan Advance reported:
“Whitmer “cannot support aspects of a bill that sends millions in taxpayer dollars to fake health centers that intentionally withhold information from women about their health, bodies, and full reproductive freedom,” Leddy wrote.”
This is a slap in the face to all the volunteers and staff who dedicate their lives to helping women at these crisis pregnancy centers.
Many women come in scared thinking abortion is their only option – but as soon as they see their baby on an ultrasound, they choose life!
We’ve reached a sad day in our country when abortion is promoted and adoption is being shunned.
May God have mercy on our nation.
Do you think crisis pregnancy centers are “fake clinics”?
