What are you afraid of?
Perhaps you are single – and are afraid you’ll never get married. Or maybe you have financial struggles and fear a life of poverty.
Regardless of your fear – what would you do if your deepest fear actually came true?
You see – satan loves to have us worried about the future – or focused on the past.
Both of these extremes rob us from experiencing the joy and the beauty of the present.
God has spoken through His Word and He reminds us all throughout Scripture of the futility of worrying about tomorrow.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34
But how many times in our life have we worried about things that never even happened or came true!
We waste precious moments being anxious about the future – and often the thing we dread the most never occurs.
But what if it does?
What if your biggest fear actually comes true?
This is where the rubber meets the road with our faith – even if the worst thing in the world happens to us – as Christians, it should only draw us further to Christ – and implore us to cling to the cross.
Sometimes in life things are stripped away from us – whether through death – illness – divorce – or rejection.
But the truth is – even in these dark moments – Jesus is still enough.
When things are going well and we feel blessed, we can often take for granted God – forgetting that He is the one who blessed us to begin with.
Often it takes a tragedy to wake us up and remind us how fleeting this world really is and force us to reshape our eternal perspective.
The enemy wants us to live in fear – but God wants us to trust Him – with everything that we have.
All throughout the Bible, God is reminding His people that He is always with us – and to be not afraid.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isiah 41:10
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13
So fellow believer – know that even if your greatest fear actually comes true – God is with you – and He will never leave or forsake you.
Place your confidence in Him – and trust that He is always good – even when we don’t understand.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
