Over the last several weeks, it’s become obvious that America is struggling with sin.
Violence, unrest, arguments, and protests have become the norm for cities around the country.
And one African American cop’s perfect response to a radical white protester was caught on camera.
After the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, protesters took to the streets across the United States to demonstrate against police and other law enforcement officials.
But what may have started as peaceful protests quickly turned into violent riots that have destroyed businesses and communities all over the country.
The Black Lives Matter movement has shown its true radical agenda in many ways.
Although it is important to address racism on an individual level, false accusations of racism have become the go-to tactic for many Black Lives Matter protesters – as is evidenced in a recent encounter between one protester and a police officer.
A white protester in Washington, D.C., marched up to a black police officer and his white colleagues and accused them of racism and bigotry without any proof.
She simply judged them on the basis of their uniforms, making the sweeping assumption that all police officers—and especially white officers—are violent and oppressive.
The protester, a young white woman with radical ideas, started by accusing a white police officer of racism and hatred toward black Americans.
The white officer responded that he had a black wife and a biracial child, but the protester refused to believe him, calling him a “liar.”
“That doesn’t mean that you’re not racist, sir, just because you have one black friend or a black wife,” she shouted. “You can still be racist. It has nothing to do with your acquaintances.”
She was trying to make a point, but it fell flat in the face of the officer’s responses. When she insisted on seeing a picture of the white officer’s family as “proof,” his colleagues decided they wouldn’t take any more.
“You don’t know nothing about him,” began a black officer. “Why would you assume that because he’s white he can’t have a black wife?”
As the young woman kept shouting, the officer calmly and peacefully continued to speak truth to her.
“Let me tell you something. America has a sin problem,” he told the protester.
“The world has a sin problem, ma’am, okay?”
The officer pointed out that all the anger and hatred of the last several weeks—including the anger in this protester’s heart—stemmed from the deep, underlying issue of human sinfulness.
Then, he quoted Scripture, silencing her complaints and pointing her to Jesus, the true solution for all this pain.
“Jesus said, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,’” the officer added, referencing John 14:6.
“America and the world has a sin problem. You understand me? That’s where racism, injustice, and hate and anger and violence come from.”
“It’s not about racism.”
The black officer concluded by urging the protester to “Read the Bible. Read the Bible. Read the Bible.”
Sadly, the young woman wasn’t to be dissuaded. Her “one-track mind” could only focus on the idea of racism as it’s been defined in the last several weeks and refused to engage in a productive conversation with this amazing officer.
“If it doesn’t fit your agenda, you don’t want to hear it,” the courageous officer realized.
Unfortunately, this is true of many protesters today. They only want to hear their version of the story.
And you can watch this interaction yourself since it was all caught on video:

Praise God for this man and his commitment to standing for Jesus! His words illustrate points of incredible importance in these troubling times.
Racism is real, and it’s deeply painful for many people across the United States and the world. But it’s a symptom of a much deeper issue: human sinfulness and our fallen nature.
We can only effectively eradicate racism when we fully address human sinfulness, just as this officer did.
Amid the protests, riots, and accusations, the Church needs to stand strong and point everyone to Jesus as the source of forgiveness, love, and hope.
He is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6), and we can only solve these problems by coming to Him.
Let’s pray that we can all imitate this police officer and speak truth into the world!
