Pastor Frank Mutabaazi was preaching an evening worship service – never knowing the terror that was waiting for him after.
So when a church member came up and praised Pastor Mutabaazi for his sermon and asked him for a ride home – he agreed without hesitation.
But the car ride took a dark turn – and you won’t believe what happened.
Pastor Mutabaazi reports that as he was driving, the passenger stayed on his phone continuously and then suddenly demanded he wanted to get out of the car.
When Pastor Mutabaazi stopped the car to let the man out, the pastor was ambushed.
Morning Star News reported:
“As he came out of the vehicle, three men dressed in Islamic attire appeared and pulled out a bottle and started spraying on me through the window while shouting and mentioning that I am an enemy of their religion as well as a deceiver who is not worthy to live,” Pastor Mutabaazi said.
“From that time on, I did not know what happened, only to find myself at a nearby clinic in Namunghona after five hours.”
This brutal attack left the pastor in bad shape – and he ended up losing most of his vision.
All Pastor Mutabaazi did was live a life of love and preach the Gospel.
But because so many Muslims in Uganda had heard his sermons and left Islam behind to follow Jesus…
… his attackers wanted to punish him.
Praise the Lord Pastor Mutabaazi survived – but he has a long road of healing ahead.
Please take a moment today and say a prayer for Pastor Mutabaazi – and all the pastors in Uganda who risk their lives each day, simply for preaching the Gospel.
May God protect them from evil and give them the supernatural strength that can only come from Him to keep persevering in the Christian faith.
Sometimes we take the freedom to express our faith for granted, but stories like this should remind us all just how fragile our lives are – and how much the dark hates the light.
And yet, despite the Enemy’s best attempts to keep people trapped in darkness – the Gospel IS being preached all throughout Uganda…
… and people are coming to Christ.!
Muslims continue to leave Islam in droves once they learn the truth of the Gospel.
But as more conversions happen – the attacks will increase.
One former Muslim woman in Uganda was poisoned to death for accepting Christ.
The Bible tells us we will suffer for Christ’s sake – which could even mean losing one’s life.
May God have mercy on the Christians in Uganda and shield them from evil as they make His name known.
And our prayers are with Pastor Mutabaazi as he overcomes this horrific tragedy – may God comfort Him, in the name of Jesus.
Will you commit to pray Pastor Mutabaazi has a full recovery?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
