The slaughter of innocent lives through the act of abortion should compel all of us to pray and intercede on behalf of the unborn.
So when one woman was peacefully and silently praying outside of an abortion clinic, she never dreamed she would be arrested for it.
And once you hear the reasons why authorities hauled her away, you’re bound to be outraged.
Pro-lifer Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was praying silently outside of an abortion clinic in the UK when she was approached by police.
They asked her if she was part of a protest – which she wasn’t – so she responded “no.”
Next, they asked her if she was praying – to which she replied that, yes, she was praying, but to herself in her head.
And apparently that was enough for police officers to arrest her because she was violating the “censorship zone,” which prohibits all forms of prayer – even silent prayer.
CBN News reported:
“Vaughan-Spruce was carrying no sign and remained completely silent until approached by the officers. The police had received complaints from an onlooker who suspected that Vaughan-Spruce was praying silently in her mind in an area described by the ADF UK as a “censorship zone.”
The City of Birmingham maintains a buffer zone around all abortion clinics that make it illegal for anyone to be “engaging in any act of approval or disapproval” in relation to abortion, including through “verbal or written means, prayer or counseling…”
This is terrifying!
We’ve reached a day in our society when even something as pure and wholesome as silent prayer can be used to detain Christians.
As scary as this is, it’s not surprising given our current culture.
The Bible warns us that we will be persecuted in His name – and we see this playing out in different ways all around the world.
And while some here in the U.S. may think we’re “safe” since this happened in the UK – the latest trend proves otherwise.
To start, despite Roe v. Wade being overturned, Biden has made it clear he will silence any pro-lifer who gets in the way of his radical, pro-abort administration.
And even though several states are passing pro-life laws – there are just as many other states working overtime to create abortion sanctuaries.
As Christians, we must continue to pray for the day to come when abortion is outlawed all around the world.
But until then – as Christians – we should be prepared to be persecuted as we stand up for life.
If you haven’t already seen it, here is the chilling clip of the woman praying silently being arrested by police.
