Bridget was born prematurely via a surrogate in Ukraine – but once her American parents learned their daughter had physical disabilities – they decided they didn’t want her.
As a result, sweet Bridget became an orphan – until one day a miracle happened.
And once you hear the story of her brave rescue, you’re bound to be touched in the most incredible way.
Bridget has cerebral palsy and clubbed feet, and is not able to walk on her own.
But instead of caring for her needs and welcoming her into their home – her own parents disowned her.
With no place to go, Bridget was thrown into an orphanage, which ended up being evacuated during the war in Ukraine.
But just when things seemed hopeless – another American family saw her photo and learned of her story – and decided to adopt her.
Even though they already have four children – they know what it means to live out Jesus’ commands to care for the orphans in a tangible way.
They could have said taking in another child would be too “inconvenient” or too “challenging,” given Bridget’s disabilities – but they didn’t.
Instead, they flew to meet her – and love her as if she was already their own.
Upon meeting Bridget, they were eager to finish the adoption – but then the war in Ukraine happened and everything changed.
Bridget was evacuated from the orphanage and the family feared they may never see their daughter again.
But then a nurse they knew told the couple a judge would hear their case…
… except they’d need to show up in person – in Ukraine – in the middle of a war.
The couple didn’t hesitate for a moment – they hopped on a plane and entered into a warzone just to save Bridget.
After mounds of paperwork and legalities – the adoption went through – and Bridget is finally in her new home here in America.
Praise the Lord!
Instead of being abandoned in an orphanage, Bridget is now living in a safe place away from bombs and terror where she is loved and cherished by her parents.
Her parents literally crossed the world and went into a war zone to bring their sweet daughter home.
Their bold act of love is the same love our Heavenly Father has for us.
He sent His one and only son to live a sinless life and die on the cross for our sins – past, present, and future.
And because of His death and resurrection – all of us who believe He is Lord can be reconciled to God and live forever with Him in eternity.
Praise God for this precious family demonstrating Christ’s love by rescuing Bridget from Ukraine and loving her as their own.
We wish this growing family blessings in their life journey.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
