Some people get wealthy and let their riches become an idol…
… but then there are guys like Tim Tebow who uses his fame and wealth to do good.
And once you hear about the creative way he helps those in need – you’re bound to be inspired.
According to CBN News, Tim Tebow has raised more than $1 million for charities by auctioning off his Heisman trophy each year.
He rightfully points out that since the Heisman trophy is such a unique item – it appeals to stars who want something truly one-of-a-kind to showcase in their homes.
Famous stars from Luke Bryan to Kathie Lee Gifford have all taken a turn having the trophy displayed in their home for a year.
But even more beautiful, while Tim Tebow is grateful for his success in sports – he has remained resolute at what his highest calling is – to serve others by being the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
CBN News reports:
“These trophies and these championships are awesome, but ultimately they’re not what’s most important.
There are so many things that are more important, and I am so grateful for that perspective,” he told The Dan Patrick Show this week.”
And what a creative way to give back to others!
Throughout his career, Tim Tebow has poured himself into serving future generations and helping those in need.
From speaking to teens and teaching them that true peace is only found in Jesus, to fighting human trafficking, to leading the “Night to Shine” events that helps those with special needs – it’s clear Tim Tebow has a heart for others.
He credits his parents for raising him right and the impact growing up in the mission field had on his life.
CBN News continued:
“Tebow told Patrick that growing up on the mission-field played an instrumental role in wanting to give to others in need.
“It had a huge impact on my life…having the chance to grow up and live the first five years in the Philippines and to missionary parents,” he explained.
“My dad is one of my biggest heroes because he spent his entire adult life helping people that could never do anything for him.”
The Tebow family is a beautiful example of what it means to live a life fully surrendered to God, passing down His blessings for the future generations.
So many people who achieve success fall into scandal or become overtaken by temptation – but Tim Tebow has remained steadfast in his faith – and committed to using his fame and fortune for good.
May the Lord continue to bless Tim Tebow and his wife as they live “on-mission” for God – making His name known and being the hands and feet of Jesus to a dying world.
And let’s hope his example will inspire more people to use their fame and influence for good and helping those in need.
