As radical atheists continue their non-stop war to purge Christ from public view, the Christmas season has not been spared.
But a new ministry is fighting back and has a goal to display nativity scenes in all 50 state capitols this Christmas.
And here’s how you can be part of it.
American Nativity Scene (ANS) is a non-profit organization based in Chicago that was founded by Jim Finnegan and Ed O’Malley.
The organization was formed seven years ago in response to the “War on Christmas” and is getting powerful support in their mission.
Their message is “Keeping Christ at the center of Christmas.”
And their way of keeping Christ in Christmas is to provide free nativity scenes to place on display inside or outside of public locations.
This display is an expression of religious faith in a public location and is privately funded without any government involvement which makes it protected by the First Amendment.
As you can imagine, this kind of goal will not occur without opposition and that’s where the Thomas More Society comes in.
The Thomas More Society is a non-profit, national public-interest law firm also based in Chicago and founded in 1997 by Tom Brejcha.
The firm was formed in response to a famous lawsuit involving the abortion industry against pro-life leaders and is known for their pro bono work in cases involving the defense of life, traditional values, and religious liberties.
And they are providing legal support for the American Nativity Scene and those affiliated with them all across the United States.
They will help secure all the proper permits and legal documentation needed to display nativity scenes in public locations and defend against any legal challenges from the atheist left.
So far, ANS has have succeeded in placing nativity scenes in 19 state capitol buildings.
Over the last 7 years, they have been able to display over 350 nativity scenes in public areas in over 36 states. These public areas consist of town centers, city halls, court buildings, and recreational areas, just to name a few.
And they need your help to continue their mission.
You can apply to receive a free nativity scene, paid for by an anonymous donor, by filling out the ANS form at https://americannativityscene.com/how-to-order.html and indicating where the scene will be placed.
Next, a committee needs to be formed (3-6 people) to help with the process of getting approval and setting up the nativity scene.
Lastly, request a permit for your private group to place the nativity scene in the public location.
Insurance may be necessary for the display and you will need to have the permit state the display will be up from the Saturday after Thanksgiving until the Saturday after Christmas.
After all paperwork is submitted, the nativity scene will be provided by ANS which contains
Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, and an angel. The only costs that are not covered is buying or making the manger and any insurance costs if required by the public location.
The nativity scenes that are made possible by the American Nativity Scene, Thomas More Society, and the anonymous donors are truly honoring the birth of Jesus Christ – Who is the true meaning of Christmas.
