One liberal city just made it easier for women to get abortions by banning all other options.
That’s right, in Somerville, Massachusetts, pro-life pregnancy centers are now prohibited – and you won’t believe the reason why.
According to politicians, not offering the option of abortion to a pregnant woman is “deceptive” – just wait until you hear the details.
It’s a known fact that crisis pregnancy centers save lives.
Many pregnant women are scared and turn to them for hope – and once they see their baby on an ultrasound, they are amazed – and often choose life.
The fact that women are choosing life should be something to celebrate!
But liberal politicians decided to make sure it doesn’t happen – so they banned these incredible pregnancy centers in a unanimous vote.
Defending the vote, Somerville City Councilor-at-Large Kristen Strezo lashed out at pro-life pregnancy centers and accused them of “manipulative language.”
The Christian Post reported:
“Describing the reason for the ordinance, Strezo claimed pregnancy centers are “disingenuous” and accused them of withholding information about pregnancy and abortion from clients.
She also expressed relief that the measure will prevent Somerville residents from having to “deal with deceptive or misleading and manipulative language” that these pro-life centers supposedly share in their materials.”
Of course – the truth is abortion centers are the true deceivers – who don’t even tell women they have other options to keep their baby.
After leaving an abortion center, many women feel their only choice is to kill their own baby – unaware that there are resources out there to help them – like crisis pregnancy centers.
In 2019, pro-life pregnancy centers helped over 2 million women! They did everything from abortion pill reversals to life-saving ultrasounds.
Life is a beautiful gift from God – and those working to help women choose to keep their babies are truly doing the Lord’s work.
National Right to Life director of communications Laura Echevarria called out the city council for their vote and spoke about their true motive.
The Christian Post continued:
“What is deceptive is the fact that the real intent behind this is to prevent women from having real choices and to prevent them from having the opportunity to see their baby, to have the opportunity to talk to someone about resources in the area that can help them,” she said.
Echevarria asserted that it’s “rare” for a woman to be “excited” about having an abortion and that most women who visit pregnancy centers do not want to have abortions.”
And she’s exactly right.
Many women who hear their baby’s heartbeat for the first time or see their tiny baby on their ultrasound often choose life.
And while abortion clinics try and hide or invalidate the life growing inside a mother, crisis pregnancy centers embrace it – and walk alongside these pregnant mamas.
So let us remember to keep praying for all those in the pro-life movement who are working to stop abortion.
And hopefully this wicked vote in Somerville can be overturned – so crisis pregnancy centers can thrive and save even more lives.
