Gathering in a church sanctuary with other believers to worship our Living God is a beautiful testimony.
But in one local church – those who had gathered there in the sanctuary weren’t there to worship Christ… they were there for a drag show.
And once you hear about the insane pro-LGBT event that took place inside the walls of a church – you’re bound to be horrified.
The “drag show” was sponsored by a student group at Emory University.
While Emory University has a host of student organizations for college kids to join – this includes one named “Emory Pride” – which celebrates and embraces the LGBT lifestyle.
Members of Emory Pride wanted to put on a massive celebration to conclude “gay history month” – so they decided to host a drag show where grown men would dress up as women and parade around the church.
But this drag show wasn’t hosted at an outdoor park or somebody’s house.
It wasn’t hosted inside the university or even in the school’s parking lot.
Instead, Emory Pride hosted their “drag show” inside a Methodist church affiliated with Emory University.
Student Tommy Greenler hosted the event – and dressed in drag himself, boasting how cool it was to host such an event inside a church.
Campus Reform reported:
“Greenler told Campus Reform that “there is something very subversive about hosting a drag show at a church, especially a Methodist church like Glenn Memorial.”
“The UMC has officially adopted some anti-LGBT stances in recent years,” he continued “but I think it says a lot about Glenn Memorial as an individual church that it has continued to welcome the drag show in their space.
“I personally think it’s kind of punk, to be a queer person hosting an unapologetically queer event in a church like this — I feel like this kind of breaking barriers is what drag is all about,” Greenler added.”
During the event, “transgender” and rainbow flags covered the church podiums – and attendees posted pictures to social media of drag queens inside the sanctuary.
Sadly, it turns out that this church has been hosting this event for the past couple of years and is a huge advocate of LGBT “rights”.
Of course, by allowing “drag queens” to parade around inside a church – all it does is send the message to those who may be struggling with their gender that it’s “okay” to be “transgender” or whatever else you want to be… because “the church” accepts it.
The truth is, God never endorses sin or supports it.
There’s a difference between loving someone and praying for them, versus supporting and even encouraging their sinful choices.
This event should have never taken place – especially inside the walls of a church.
The pastor of this church should immediately cease from allowing this event to continue under his watch – and repent for all those he has led astray.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
