Think back to one of your darkest moments, when you thought you couldn’t muster the strength to do one more thing – but God got you through.
Or maybe you prayed long and hard for something – whether it was the salvation of a relative or financial provision for your family – and God answered your prayer more than you could have ever dreamed.
In these “miracle moments” of your life, you may be quick to thank and praise God… but when the next storm hits, how do you respond?
Do you curse God? Fall into the trap of self-pity?
Or – do you remember His faithfulness.
You see – throughout the ages – from the beginning of time – God has been faithful to His people.
From rescuing them from slavery and oppressive rulers time and time again, to providing comfort during the deepest moments of human despair – God was – is – and will always be faithful.
And when the next storm of life hits – and it will – it’s critical you meditate and remember all God has done – not just for others – but in your life too.
It’s often during our darkest moments we are tempted to believe the lies of Satan – that God has forgotten us – or abandoned us.
While intellectually we know this isn’t true – in the hyper-emotional moments of life it can seem like God is so far away – even though He promises us He never leaves or forsakes us.
Which is why it’s so critical to remember His faithfulness and all He has done!
By recalling the moments when He’s rescued you – you’ll be encouraged to see that God finishes what He starts.
Of course, the greatest miracle of all was God sending Jesus to die on the cross and pay the price for our sins – a debt we could never pay.
Consider starting a journal of “answered prayers” as a way to not only thank God – but to remember the amazing miracles He’s worked in your life.
Read through it from time to time as you give thanks for the countless ways He’s helped you overcome what you thought was an impossible hurdle.
Some believers even have “war rooms” or “prayer hallways” where they list out their answered prayers to give glory for all God has done.
Of course, we must remember that God answers prayers according to His will – not ours.
Oftentimes, when we don’t get “what we want” – it’s actually God’s protection, as He knows exactly what we need more than we do.
If you’re going through a rough season – take a moment tonight and write out all the ways God has been there for you in your life – chances are you’ll likely run out of space!
He is faithful. And He is always there.
Even when you don’t “feel” Him – rest in the confidence of His promise.
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
