Have you ever gone through a tough season in your life and cried out to God, “Where are you!?”
As you read through Scripture, you’ll learn God’s people often cried out to Him – like in Psalm 56:8 where David acknowledges that God had kept track of his pain: “You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?”
So if you’re going through a tough season in life and feel like no one understands your pain – take heart and know that God sees you – and rest in the truth that He keeps track of all your sorrows.
Psalm 56:8 is meant to remind us that God does not forget nor turns His face when His people are in pain.
Every tear is sacred to God – and His Word promises He will comfort us through our darkest moments.
He longs for each of us to cry out to Him and cast our anxieties and pain unto Him so He can heal us and make us new.
Oh how He loves us!
But often when we are in the storms of life, the Enemy sneaks in and hopes to cause even the strongest of Christians to stumble and doubt the goodness of God.
Satan is a liar – and there is no truth in him – but he knows our weak points and often strikes when we are at our lowest.
But the good news is – we already know Jesus has won the battle.
There will be pain on this side of heaven, but it won’t last forever.
God does not leave us alone to fight our battles – He tells us He will fight the battle for us and has promised again and again to never leave or forsake His people.
All we have to do is pray and cry out to Him for help in our times of trouble.
He may not show up in the way we expect – but He will show up at the perfect time in the exact way we need.
It’s important as believers that we stay in the Word of God daily – so when the storms of life hit (and they will – even if you are not currently in one), Christians can use Scripture to fight the battle.
And although the sin in this world can make life hard at times – as Christians, we have hope in Jesus.
We know that He will finish what He started, and we know a day will come when He will wipe every tear away.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelations 21:4
But until that day comes, don’t lose heart.
Meditate on Psalm 56:8 and find comfort in the truth that He knows your pain and your tears matter to Him.
Does it bring you comfort to know God keeps track of your every tear?
What are some ways you cry out to Him during your seasons of suffering?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
