When COVID-19 led to church closures and isolation, Parker and Jessi Green wondered what God was doing.
He’d been preparing them for “a tremendous harvest of souls” in 2020, and they knew it was still coming.
But the plan God revealed has been far beyond anything they expected!
The Greens have spearheaded a growing movement known as Saturate OC and it’s changing thousands of lives this summer.
The spiritual revival—based in Huntington Beach, California—began on Friday, July 3rd, and has continued to offer weekly services for thousands of spiritually hungry souls.
Parker and Jessi started the movement after receiving a “profound vision” from God. Previously living and ministering in New York, the couple uprooted their life to move to California and respond to what could only be described as a miraculous promise.
“We saw a picture of thousands of people being baptized along Huntington Beach Pier,” Jessi explained.
“The harvest was so massive, people were quickly turning around to baptize the person behind them.”
“There was a ripple effect to this move of God,” she continued, reflecting on the powerful vision.
“I believe that there is a massive harvest for THE CHURCH in Orange County to participate in and we need to prepare the nets of discipleship.”
“The next revival would come through the equipping of the saints.”
After the couple moved to California, the vision became clearer, with a further revelation in January of 2020.
At the beginning of the year, Jessi sensed God saying to her that this revival “would be like a threshing floor movement where God was going to start to separate the wheat from the tares.”
But as much as they wanted to be a part of this harvest, Jessi and Parker weren’t sure where to start especially when the state of California recently decided to keep churches closed due to COVID-19.
“I assumed that we were just going to cancel or postpone it and then I did a two-week fast and God said to me: ‘Just because it looks different than what you thought doesn’t mean that I lied when I told you [to do this],” Jessi remembered.
It was a daunting prospect to conduct a revival in the midst of a pandemic, but Jessi and Parker knew they had to act in obedience to God.
So they called up several other Orange County pastors and started holding outdoor services on the beach—and Saturate OC was born!
Now, attendance at each service numbers in the hundreds, with over 50,000 people impacted by the powerful message of hope and repentance the Greens and other evangelists share each week.
The movement has transformed lives in countless ways.
“People are coming to the front repenting of sexual sin, and falling to the ground and not knowing why they are falling to the ground, and then feeling the presence of God in a way they’ve never experienced,” Jessi described.
Even children and young people are experiencing this change!
“This revival is really moving among the children,” Jessi shared. “We are seeing tons, and I would say within the last two weeks 60 children chose to be baptized—ages 3 years old to 16.”
Saturate OC is having “a ripple effect” on Orange County, with attendees spreading the Gospel to their social circles and families long after they’ve attended a service.
Some Christian leaders, such as worship artist Sean Feucht, have compared Saturate OC to the “Jesus People Movement” that influenced the 1960’s and 1970’s.
“What we’re seeing now is a return back to a gritty, raw Gospel, Jesus people movement foundation,” Feucht said.
“A lot of that is in part because we can’t be in our churches. We are kind of forced to be outside of our buildings and forced to be innovative and creative and come up with alternate solutions.”
In other words, this revival could have only happened in the context of COVID-19!
“I think what [the COVID-19 pandemic] is doing is stripping off the sheen and the polished nature of what we’ve built in America and it’s allowing us to return to the simplicity…of the raw Gospel,” Feucht added.
“You can’t stop the Kingdom of God!” Jessi concluded.
Praise God for His amazing work in California! Please keep praying for the success of Saturate OC as thousands search for hope in these troubled times.
