Hedieh Mirahmadi was a practicing Muslim for 22 years, but she always knew something was “off” with Islam.
Like the time she removed her head covering and was told by religious leaders she’d be hanged by her hair forever in “hellfire.”
After a lifetime of feeling nothing but shame and fear in her religion, she fell to her knees in desperation and prayed to hear from the true God – but nothing prepared her for what would happen next.
Those who practice Islam are entrenched in a culture where God is viewed solely as a judge who’s just waiting to strike them down whenever they make a mistake.
As a result, many Muslims live in fear and are always trying to “earn” God’s approval – only to become depressed because they realize they can never meet the unattainable standard of perfection.
Hedieh felt this way and says she was never able to accept God’s love.
Faithwire reported:
“In Islam, God is not a father. God is the ultimate judge. And He sits apart from us, judging absolutely every single thing that we do,” she explains.
But she continued practicing Islam for many years, until her fear became too much.
The catalyst for her was when she removed her head covering and was told by her religious leaders that what she did was so significantly wrong, she would spend all eternity in hellfire hanging by her hair.
Finally, Hedieh had enough.
As she was watching a sermon online, the pastor mentioned having a personal relationship with God through Jesus.
Hedieh was confused, but wanted to know more. It seemed impossible that the image she had of God was actually someone who loved her as His daughter.
But through her confusion, she got down on her knees and prayed, asking God to reveal Himself to her.
And it was at that moment, He did!
Hedieh describes knowing it was God, and for the first time she began to understand who He really was and break through the lies of Islam.
Forever changed, she continued to pursue Christ in all areas of her life.
As she read the Bible and heard from God directly, she was utterly amazed at the living power of God’s Word – something she never experienced with the Quran.
Faithwire continued:
“Hedieh says, “The Bible came alive as the Quran never did. I could hear God speak to me and I knew He was speaking directly to me cause He was using the Quran as an example of why the Quran was not correct and why His Word in the Bible was true.
I got to a point where I was like I have to accept that Jesus is Lord. I have to accept that He has saved me. And I was praying one day and I just felt the Lord say to me, ‘Daughter, you don’t have to be afraid anymore.’”
Hedieh’s incredible transformation reminds us all that even those who seem hostile to Christ are not without hope.
The power of Jesus Christ to change lives is real – and He is using His Word and His people to reach those who worship a false god.
By His grace, so many Muslims are coming to Christ!
And now we get to celebrate yet another life redeemed.
Welcome into the kingdom, Hedieh!
We pray you continue to grow in your faith and internalize the truth that, having accepted Jesus as Lord of your life, you are forever saved by His blood and no longer have to fear death.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
