A local North Dakota school board used to start their meetings by reciting the pledge of allegiance – but not anymore.
In a 7-2 vote, the school board has now decided the pledge of allegiance is “offensive” – because of the words “under God.”
If you think that’s bizarre, just wait until you hear the full reason why “under God” is suddenly offensive.
According to the school board – the phrase “under God” violates their “diversity and inclusion” values.
The school board went on to defend their reasons for removing the pledge – claiming they want to use something more “unifying” to start their meetings.
Inforum reported:
“School Board President Dr. Tracie Newman admitted she had no strong feelings either way, but it remained clear to her that this was a divisive issue. Newman said a division in the room was no way to start a school board meeting.
“I’m just not sure that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance is a useful way to begin every one of our board meetings,” Newman said. “I would much prefer that we open our meetings with a shared statement of purpose that would bring us all together to do the work of the board.”
Board members Melissa Burkland and Katie Christensen agreed that the idea of reciting one of the school district’s values would have a much greater impact on performing the board’s duty for the schools.”
Whenever one removes God – or His name – disaster is sure to await.
Yet sadly, here in America, many try to take God’s name out of everything – from the schools to the public square.
While there are many Christians who still use His name – and defend the right for religious freedom to do so – the secular left remains on the offense and tries to stay one step ahead.
One small-town sheriff was pressured to remove a Bible verse off his office wall – but he refused – stating we all need “more Jesus.”
Amen!
But some are still determined to remove God from everything – even our own currency!
As Christians know – there’s nothing scarier than when God removes His hand of protection from a nation.
Many people think they don’t “need God” – but the truth is we ALL do – every second of every day.
And although Christians in America are far from being persecuted like in some parts of the world – we are starting to see things pick up.
Recently, a street preacher was arrested simply for reading Scripture.
And let us never forget the horror endured during COVID-19 – where the government shut down and fined churches for gathering to worship.
Even home Bible studies were targeted!
While some churches remained victorious and the government was forced to pay back millions collectively throughout the country – it was a dangerous test for the government to see just how much they could get away with.
Reciting the pledge of allegiance may seem like a small thing – but it holds significant meaning.
One thing is certain – those who want to have God removed from everything better be careful what they wish for – they just might get it.
What are your thoughts on a school board voting to stop reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at school board meetings?
Do you think we are still “One nation under God”?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
