In the good old days, it was widely accepted that the best people to raise a child were a loving mother and father.
But now – if you suggest a child should grow up in a traditional home – you’re labeled as an extremist.
In fact, one legislator took a massive shot at traditional families – and you won’t believe what she said.
It all started when Family Heritage Alliance stated the safest place for children to grow up are in homes with a married mom and dad.
While statistics back this up and Christians know this to be true as God designed – this innocent and factual statement by Family Heritage Alliance was viewed as controversial and shocking.
South Dakota State Representative Erin Healy was appalled at the mere suggestion of having a child raised by a married mom and dad in a safe home – and she exploded on social media with a Twitter rant.
Extremist group Family Heritage Alliance said this morning that the safest place for kids are in families that have a married mom and dad. What a dangerous and un-American belief.

Healy claimed such statements were “dangerous” and “un-American.”
Sadly, statements like Healy’s are the new trend for those determined to tear down the family unit.
Satan loves to attack the family unit, because he knows children are vulnerable without the protection of good and healthy parents, just a like a single mom is often more vulnerable than one who is protected spiritually, emotionally, and financially by her husband.
The Enemy has blinded the world into thinking it is “extreme” at the mere suggestion that traditional family values still exist, even though God intentionally designed the family structure to include both a mom and dad.
As parents, the most important job we have is raising our children to love and fear the Lord – and to know what His Word says.
And the truth is, what’s actually “extreme” is to expect a child to develop into a healthy mature adult if they are being raised by “transgender” parents who deny their own biological sex.
Children are born dependent on their parents – and they often model what they see their parents do.
If a child grows up with a biologically male dad who “identifies” as a female and wears dresses and goes by “mom”…
… the child will perceive this as normal, because they don’t know any better.
Of course, this will likely cause the child to question their own gender – and increase the odds of them struggling with gender dysphoria.
Society may mock the traditional family and view it as “dated” or “out of touch” – but having a solid and strong family is a child’s best chance at success in life in all areas.
We must continue to pray for God to compel believers to remain strong in their desire to preserve and protect the family unit.
Christians truly are the last line of defense against a wicked culture and world that seeks to devour the hearts, souls, minds, and bodies of our children.
Let’s also pray Representative Healy will come to know the truth – that having a mom and dad married to each other who love God first, and love each other – so they can, in turn, love their children – is a beautiful act of protection and love.
