Governor Gavin Newsom of California is one of the most radical pro-abort politicians we’ve ever seen.
He even went so far as to launch a nationwide billboard campaign promoting abortion – that included Scripture on the bottom.
But a pro-life group launched their own billboard campaign and here’s the message they’re trying to send.
Newsom purposely had billboards put up in pro-life states – that encouraged people to come to California to kill their babies.
Even more horrifying, these billboards included Scripture at the bottom of their pro-abort message – “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater command than this” – as if Jesus would be okay with abortion!
But in response, pro-life group The Coalition for an Abortion-Free Future decided to launch their own billboard campaign promoting chastity as an antidote to abortion.
The Christian Post reported:
“Save sex for marriage. Plan your future. Not your abortion,” one billboard reads.
The billboard includes a picture of a young woman looking at the results of a pregnancy test as a young man sitting beside her, presumably her boyfriend, puts his fingers over his eyes as an indication of stress due to the positive pregnancy test result.”
Promoting abstinence is certainly lost in our culture – but it’s what the Bible teaches we are to do until we are married.
And the group hopes the message will encourage folks to abstain from sex before marriage – therefore reducing the number of abortions as a result.
One thing is certain – the message of abstinence is a strong contrast to society’s lie to “put yourself first” and do whatever “feels good” and is “best for you.”
The Christian Post continued:
“If men and women stopped having sex outside of relationships truly committed to protecting the lives of the babies they create, the demand for abortion would largely disappear,” the announcement predicted.
“Pro-life resources could then focus on helping families welcome their unexpected additions.”
While not every person or group can afford a billboard campaign – we all can do our part to spread the message of life.
There will always be pro-abortion politicians like Governor Newsom who will pass horrific policies that will guarantee more babies will die.
This is why it’s crucial to make sure pro-life leaders continue to band together and push back against the abortion agenda.
Let’s pray a day will come soon when even the thought of abortion will be unthinkable!
But until that day comes, every Christian has a role to play in the battle for life – so, as you spend some quiet time with the Lord today, ask Him to show you your role.
