“Dear Pro-Life friends: what have you *personally* done to support lower income single mothers? I’ll wait:”
After a pro-abortion blogger wrote this smug anti-life tweet, she didn’t expect the overwhelming response she received.
One pro-lifer responder commented, “This may be my favorite Twitter thread ever! These responses are so inspiring!”
Sarah Tuttle Singer, a pro-abortion liberal author, blogger, and editor, assumed that pro-life supporters did not actually support those struggling to keep the children they chose not to abort.
Dear Pro-Life friends: what have you *personally* done to support lower income single mothers?
I’ll wait:

This kind of attitude is sadly all too common in pro-abortion circles.
The presumption is that if pro-lifers aren’t actively supporting women with unwanted pregnancy, particularly those who are marginalized and at the greatest risk for abortion, then they aren’t entitled to an opinion on life and should keep their mouth shut.
However, the joke is on them as pro-lifers are among the biggest source of support for woman facing the risk of abortion and that support flows in countless ways.
As Ms. Singer saw firsthand in the response to her smug tweet, pro-lifers are stepping up to care for women in need:
“I volunteer at crisis pregnancy centers and spend time educating women about the options and free help available in the area (help includes prenatal and after birth care, as well as parenting and healthy relationship classes)”
“I currently have a school friend of my daughter living with us, (we considered her a daughter now), who was raised by her now 85 year old grandmother since kindergarten. when her mom & dad abandoned her, for drugs & alcohol.”
“Adopted 1 and took in 3 foster who are now staying permanently. In addition to my 6 natural children.”
“We can all do more. I sat up half the night thinking of ways to do more to love my neighbor whomever it is. I hope this inspires many more.”
Ms. Singer was inundated with literally thousands of tweets from thousands of pro-lifers explain exactly what they have done and are doing to help these lower income single mothers.
And the response blew anything that she was expecting out of the water.
It seems that she was blinded to all of these helpful people by the media’s attempt to convince people that pro-life supporters, including evangelical Christians, do not really care about the lives that they are so determined to save.
There are reports that circulate within these circles that once the baby is born, pro-lifers see their job as finished because the life has been saved and no longer care, but this could not be further from the truth.
In fact, there are whole facilities set up to help mothers and their babies well after their birth.
Pregnancy crisis centers often have clothes for babies and some even for toddlers and older for mothers who are struggling with the care of their children.
Many people relayed that they had volunteered to help at some of these centers.
But this is not all that they revealed.
Many told of how they had bought food or clothes for a mother that they knew who needed help.
Some gave mothers rides to appointments and other places.
There were those who gave furniture and some who even invited some of those who were in need of help into their homes to stay. These mothers and their children were given shelter.
This seems like caring for mothers to me.
You see, there are many pro-lifers, Christians and others, who believe in seeing the caring for these mothers and children extend beyond birth.
There were some who even moved cities to be able to live with single parent family members so they could help with the children and with life in general.
And then there were readers of this thread who were inspired by the words written there.
There were some readers who admitted that this thread had inspired them to do more for mothers and their children and to find more ways to help.
You see, when life itself is of importance to people, those people don’t tend to give up on life after a certain point. To those who hold the life of others in importance, all life is precious: not just the life of babies.
This is something that does not seem to be understood by those on the pro-abortion side of the issue.
Examples like this tweet show us that there are many out there willing to help save lives and help others who have chosen to cherish life.
This also shows us that there are many who are ignorant to how people are willing to really Love others more than themselves. Enough to sacrifice part of themselves for others.
It is a great inspiration to know that so many others want to help and Love others in a world where many feel Love disappearing.
Let us pray for those who are in need and who are struggling with decisions between life and death.
And let us pray that there are people around them willing to help and Love them.
All life is precious and has a purpose for our Father, from conception to death.
Help us to show others the truth and let them see.
