The pro-abortion movement continues to fight against the sanctity of life across America.
So, when a pro-life group started planning a large-scale pro-life ad campaign centered in Times Square, they almost instantly received a backlash of hatred and attacks.
The pro-abortion activists stopped at nothing to make sure no one in Times Square saw this stunning pro-life ad campaign.
Here’s what they tried to censor:
As we previously reported, the “Alive from New York” ad campaign would have broadcast a live 4D ultrasound across the jumbotron screens in New York City’s Times Square.
The ad campaign was planned by Focus on the Family, a Christian and conservative ministry whose mission is “nurturing and defending the God-ordained institution of the family and promoting biblical truths worldwide.”
The idea is brilliant.
The message of life would be presented without violence, hate of the opposition, or even angry protests … All of which are actually contrast to true pro-life messages.
To display the truth of the humanity of the baby growing inside the womb in graphic detail would make an impact like no other ad campaign could.
However, pro-abortion activists refused to allow the people of Times Square to see such a powerful display, fighting to have the ad campaign censored from public view.
“Focus on the Family reports three companies have denied its request to buy billboard space on New York City’s Times Square.”
On FotF (Focus on the Family)’s live showing, the Conservative Tribune writes: “apparently, that was too much for the delicate sensibilities of New Yorkers. The ad buy, made in good faith, was apparently controversial to people who had already decided their position on abortion.”
Focus on the Family created this plan realizing another truth: This world is under the influence of the Father of Lies: Satan. The Bible states this very clearly in John 8:44 and Colossians 1:13.
The darkness of this world infiltrates the mind and darkens the spirit, and many people make decisions based on half-truths or falsehoods nicely packaged and placed at their doorstep.
Focus on the Family President Jim Daly kept everyone updated along this journey.
As stated in a blog post: “In many ways, this blockade only confirms what we’ve long known. There are many people who don’t want the world to see these images of pre-born life, because the abortion industry is predicated on a lie — namely that a baby is just a blob of tissue inside the womb. It’s not. It’s a baby. In response to this flat-out discrimination, we’ve decided to bring in our own digital billboards.”
And bring their own they did.
The ministry marched in, prepared to follow through with what God had given them to do with peace and excellence.
As they set up, people of both religious and nonreligious background celebrated their effort, a special grace of God. People commented in response to being explained what was about to take place.
Many responses also appeared via Instagram and Twitter, as the population gave their opinions publicly: “God bless your work for the sacred souls of the next generation. May the 4th be with you!”, “Awesome! Thank you for this life changing event for hopefully thousands of people at all stages of life.”
Part of the current issue according to Focus on the Family is that the responsibility to keep on top of the battle against life is hard, long-suffering, and a sacrificial effort. The world seems all too ready to pick up their axes and keep the throws steady.
Praise God, “Alive from New York” happened despite the attempt to censor and shut them down.
This marks the largest scale pro-life production in recent years, possibly ever, and certainly the largest in New York.
CBN News reports: “There were live performances and speeches. But the main event was a live 4D ultrasound. The ultrasound was performed on Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director and now a pro-life activist and the inspiration behind the movie Unplanned.”

During her part, Johnson spoke boldly to the crowd: “This is a baby! This right here is a baby. This right here is a baby! It’s not a cat. It’s not a parasite. This is a human being with a heartbeat, with its own DNA that is separate from my body. And this baby deserves to live!”
The event turnout was radical. The over 10,000 that signed up were not the only ones present.
And it certainly was not a fully supportive crowd. Protestors appeared voicing their opinion and shouting at the pro-life crowd, “Get out of our city!”
Many feel threatened by the truth displayed by a live ultrasound.
But where there is truth, there is freedom. We are America, “Land of the Free.” But until the truth on every matter is clearly laid out, unfiltered by biased media and propaganda from either side, there is not true freedom.
For ourselves and our families we need to take the first step of responsibility. Simply, we need to be educated. Seek the means available through groups such as Focus on the Family or And Then There Were None (an organization started by Abby Johnson to promote the reality of abortions and help workers in that field transition to other work). Learn both sides, and understand what you claim to believe.
Nobody was ever convinced by someone who didn’t know what they were talking about. It is our duty as humanity to take it upon ourselves, to navigate what we are being told and stay informed.
Pray for the people — every single soul — that witnessed the “Alive” event. Pray that God would continue to work mightily as a result of what was experienced. Amen.
