If pro-aborts in New York have their way – abortion will soon be the law of the land.
And they’ve almost succeeded. The New York State Assembly and Senate has already voted twice on the bill to codify abortion.
Now, in order for abortion to be codified into New York’s constitution, it must go before the voters – and things are looking bleak.
To start – New York is one of the most pro-abortion states in all of America.
Women can abort their babies up until delivery – and New York Governor Kathy Hochul continues to invite women to cross state lines to kill their babies.
And even though New York strongly encourages abortion in their state – now they want to make sure it stays that way forever – regardless of what party is in charge.
But in order to do so – they first had to pass the bill to codify abortion into the state’s constitution in both chambers – twice.
Which they did.
The abortion bill first passed July of 2022 – and it recently passed again.
Now the final step involves bringing it before the voters which is expected to happen in 2024.
So what exactly did the New York State Assembly and Senate vote on?
They deemed it the “equal rights amendment” which states:
“Provides that no person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws of this state or any subdivision thereof; provides no person shall, because of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, creed, religion, or sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, reproductive healthcare and autonomy, be subjected to any discrimination in their civil rights by any other person or by any firm, corporation, or institution, or by the state or any agency or subdivision of the state.”
Language like this is clearly worded to ensure that regardless of what happens in the future – a woman’s “right” to abortion will forever be “protected.”
Live Action reported:
“Though New York is already heavily pro-abortion, lawmakers believe that enshrining a right to determine “pregnancy outcomes” will further protect abortion from the possibility of future pro-life laws protecting preborn human lives.
“As other states take extreme measures to stymie progress and roll back reproductive rights, New York will always lead the way to combat discrimination in all forms and protect abortion access,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said of the bill’s passage.”
We’ve truly reached a dark day in our nation where states are actually boasting about “leading the way” in killing unborn babies.
Every baby is a gift from God and deserves the right to be born.
But as abortion advocates remain fearful of states passing pro-life legislation – it’s likely we’ll see a push to get abortion rights codified into more pro-abort states’ constitutions.
So although Roe v. Wade has been overturned – it’s clear the battle for life rages on – and every Christian must join in and do their part to protect unborn babies.
