“I’m proudly a Christian conservative and was raised on the belief that success is built with hard work, commitment and dedication — West Virginia values that continue to guide me today.”
As America’s youngest black legislator, Caleb Hanna holds values that bring God’s Word on every matter, every time.
And as you might suspect, the mainstream media has completely ignored him.
While local news has covered his incredible story, you probably have never heard of him.
West Virginia MetroNews records that at the November 2018 election, Hanna won his seat by nearly a 2-to-1 ratio.
That is very unique for absolutely anyone from any background to experience.
But what makes it even more newsworthy: “At that moment, Hanna became the youngest African-American in America to be elected to a state legislature, according to the National Council of State Legislatures.”
During the campaign, Hanna publicly made his views known on a number of issues important to Christians.
“I support the WV Pro-Life movement and have been endorsed in the Republican Primary by West Virginians for Life. I also fully support the 2nd Amendment and our right to bear arms.”
“I will be a passionate, effective, and conservative fighter for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution.”
One foundational, life-shaping moment for Hanna came at the young age of 10.
In a conversation with his father, Hanna began to understand economics, and was inspired to do something about our downward direction:
“When I was only 10 years old, I heard my father say, ‘The American Dream is getting harder to find. Opportunities are becoming tougher to come by, and the simple idea, of by doing the right thing and working hard you can provide for your family, just really isn’t so simple anymore.’ From that moment, I knew I wanted to somehow help and serve the people of the great Mountain State.”
“My goal is very simple, and that’s to bring A New Era of Leadership to West Virginia government. By implementing my youth and skills into government, I can provide a fresh new perspective to policy making that is not usual but is certainly effective.”
Hanna understands both in life and spirituality that God has designed humans to function out of goal/vision casting. Even back to the book of Habakkuk, God shows us that we will not make real progress until we have true vision, inspired by Him.
Hanna shared his vision for his home state: “I have vision for opportunity that others typically miss, and West Virginia needs that now more than ever. I have a lot of pride for this state I’ve always called home.”
It’s been barely a year since the 2018 election, and yet Hanna is already proving the power of God’s vision bloomed in his spirit. He is actively seeking to help change the way America operates, starting right at home.
And of course, probably the biggest reason Hanna hasn’t received national media attention – he supports President Trump.
Let’s absolutely be in prayer over this man of God for wisdom and bravery. We know the snares and slings are out for him, waiting to pounce because he represents such a threat to the liberal agenda.
Also pray that his young age is not a hindrance to the work God desires to happen in this country through His presence as He uses Hanna.
1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
Let’s pray that Hanna becomes an example that even works to inspire more strong young people in their faith toward political vision. May God bless and keep Hanna as he honors God with his choices! Amen.
