While states around the country continue to make abortion more accessible – Texas just did the very opposite.
Becoming the first state in America to protect unborn babies with a detectable heartbeat, Texas’s Heartbeat Act is causing shockwaves around the nation, being met with both applause and criticism.
But when you hear the incredible way this new law protects unborn babies, you’ll be so encouraged.
As Christians, we know God is the Author of life, and that life begins at conception.
Despite this truth, there are many who refuse to acknowledge that a baby’s life begins at conception and therefore justify the brutal act of abortion.
In some states, women are allowed to get an abortion up until the moment they deliver their baby.
But in Texas, their new Heartbeat Act now prohibits abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, typically around 6 weeks gestation.
And not only does it protect babies against the cruel hands of abortionists, but it allows private citizens to take action if they know providers are still performing abortions.
The law allows private citizens to file lawsuits against doctors who perform abortions after a heartbeat has been detected, and allows legal action to be taken against any person who aids in helping a woman get an abortion – such as financing the brutal act or even driving her to the abortion clinic.
Those who advocate for life are celebrating such a massive victory, knowing at least for now unborn babies are safe.
Live Action reported:
“Right now in the great state of Texas, every single child with a detectable heartbeat is legally protected from being killed by the violence of abortion. This is a historic step forward for basic human rights,” said Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action.
“I applaud the brave advocates and lawmakers in Texas for passing this innovative law designed to withstand the tidal wave of attacks from abortionists and their apologists. Citizens and lawmakers must be vigilant in their defense of this law because we know that the abortion industry is determined to profit from the deaths of as many children as they can.
No matter what happens going forward, today is a day for celebration and a vital reprieve for the precious children scheduled for death behind the doors of a Texas abortion business.”
Amen!
Abortion providers like Planned Parenthood still claim abortion is “health care” – and while they’ve accepted their limitations to perform abortions in Texas under the new law – they’ve promised to help women obtain abortions out of state.
In the question-and-answer section on Planned Parenthood’s website, it was asked if one could still get an abortion at Planned Parenthood in Texas with the Texas Heartbeat Act now in effect.
Planned Parenthood admitted they couldn’t and wrote:
“Planned Parenthood is here to provide you with access to health care — no matter what. We can determine if you are within the new legal limit to provide care under this law. If you are not, and we cannot provide abortion care for you in our health center, we can still help connect you with resources to obtain out-of-state care, including financial assistance.”
The good news is, a woman can no longer simply walk into a Texas abortion clinic and just get an abortion.
Once a fetal heartbeat is detected, she is no longer legally allowed to abort her baby.
While it’s possible some women may still choose to travel out of state to kill their babies, it’s likely many won’t…
… which means more lives of unborn babies will be saved!
God bless Texas and their continued desire to fight for life.
Let’s pray that more states follow their lead and enact similar legislation to save the lives of countless babies.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
