With “drag queens” still being welcomed into public libraries to read to children – several Christians have stepped up to fight back.
But when Kirk Cameron requested to read his new children’s book “As You Grow” – more than 50 libraries either refused or ignored his request.
And once you hear why, you’re bound to be outraged.
To start, our public libraries have an agenda. They welcome “drag queens” – even some who are sexual predators – to read to children…
… while Christians face backlash and resistance when they request to do the same.
Like when Kirk Cameron’s publisher, Brave Books, reached out to several public libraries to request story hour slots for his book.
Fox News reported:
“The Rochambeau Public Library in Providence, Rhode Island, for instance, told Cameron and his book publisher by phone, “No, we will pass on having you run a program in our space.”
“We are a very queer-friendly library. Our messaging does not align,” the library worker also told Brave Books.
When the publisher asked the library official about filling out the proper form to apply for a story-hour slot, the individual replied, “You can fill out the form to reserve space, to run the program in our space — but we won’t run your program.”
This answer wasn’t sent back just once or twice…
… but over 50 times!
Every library either ignored the request or stated that Cameron’s values did not align with their messaging.
But, being the courageous fighter he is, Kirk refused to give up and threatened to take the issue to court…
… which resulted in at least two libraries immediately changing their stance and allowing him a slot.
The Daily Mail reported:
“’I’m happy that the two libraries changed their decision and will allow my voice to be heard and my book to be read,’ he wrote.
He added, ‘I hope they realized that their position of denying me a story hour reading was not only unfair and illegal, but that we would all be better off if we listened to each other’s perspectives.’
Cameron also wrote that he hopes that ‘children from Indianapolis and Scarsdale can learn something about biblical wisdom and the fruits of the Spirit from As You Grow.”
Praise the Lord for this major victory!
LGBT activists may think they hold a monopoly on our public libraries with their “drag queen” story hours…
… but Cameron’s refusal to back down shows that Christians who hold the line and stand up for Biblical truth cannot be silenced forever.
Let’s hope more Christians take the opportunity to combat the darkness of “drag queen” story-hour by sharing the hope of the Gospel.
Do you think libraries should deny Christians the right to read faith-based books to children?
