It’s time to start preparing for the next Presidential election.
There’s a huge field of candidates who want to shape our country’s future, for better or for worse.
In the case of Presidential hopeful Joe Biden, it would be for the worse.
According to Biden, his number one priority will be passing and enforcing the so-called “Equality Act,” one of the most anti-Christian laws currently being proposed.
Initiated by left-wing politicians, the so-called “Equality Act” is a bill that seeks to normalize deviant sexual and gender identities.
It’s the latest effort in a movement to silence the biblical Christian worldview on sex and gender.
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a prominent homosexual advocacy group, is one of the driving forces behind the so-called “Equality Act.” In fact, in a recent address, Biden gave the HRC credit for tilting “the moral arc in this nation toward justice.”
What Biden and the HRC consider “justice” is vastly different from what God considers to be “just.”
The so-called “Equality Act” would penalize average Americans — especially Christians — for their personal viewpoints on marriage, gender identity, and sexual behavior.
Does that sound just?
No, it does not. And it is not. The potential results of the so-called “Equality Act” prove that Biden and HRC don’t seek true “justice.”
If Biden is elected and the Equality Act is signed into law, things will change for business owners, parents, and women, among others.
Even more business owners would face even worse lawsuits and prosecution if they don’t conform to mainstream views on sexuality and gender.
“The Equality Act could put people out of work for their beliefs,” wrote the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think-tank in Washington, D.C.
The recent case of Jack Phillips, a Christian baker in Colorado who refused to bake a cake for a gay couple’s wedding, is only one example of what could become an everyday event for business owners under the Equality Act.
Those who believe in the biblical definitions of marriage and gender would not be able to express or act on their beliefs while in the workplace.
Parents would also be affected by the Equality Act. They would be forced to approve medical procedures including chemical castration, sterilization, mastectomies, and more if their children have fallen victim to society’s gender-confusion.
Refuse and you will lose custody of your child.
Essentially, parents would no longer have control over medical decisions for their children, and Christian parents would no longer be able to raise their children according to the Bible’s teaching and God’s design for sex and marriage.
Women constitute another vulnerable group under the so-called “Equality Act.”
Although Biden claims that the legislation will build on the struggle for women’s rights, his idea of “justice” would actually result in a loss of safety and protection for women.
Traditionally female-only spaces like restrooms, changing rooms, and even the sports arena could no longer refuse entrance to men who claim to identify as women.
This is an issue that has risen in the public view over the past decade, but the so-called “Equality Act” would ultimately deny women of all the protections of female-only spaces in every area of life.
Even in sports, female athletes would be forced to compete against male athletes who claim to identify as female. In essence, advances that have been made for women over the past century would be erased under the guise of “equality” and “justice.”
“In this dangerous moment for our nation, the very idea of America is at stake,” said Biden, and he isn’t wrong.
But while he believes the idea of America must be fundamentally transformed into the image of the homosexual movement, Christians know that supporting those ideas puts the nation’s true integrity at great risk.
“A federal sexual orientation and gender identity law would empower the government to interfere in how regular Americans think, speak, and act at home, at school, at work and at play,” wrote the Heritage Foundation.
“Any bill promoting such authoritarianism is a danger to our freedoms.”
The so-called “Equality Act” is truly meant to further inequality and discrimination against Christians.
When speaking on the bill, Biden promised, “If I’m elected president it will be the first thing I ask to be done. It will send a message around the world, not just at home.”
His next words were chilling. “This is our soul … this is who we have to be. This is our real moral obligation.”
We cannot allow a man (or woman) to take Presidential office who has such an upside-down view of right and wrong. Biden’s address to HRC is filled with promises to disregard religious freedoms and silence Christians around the country.
As you watch the next election cycle, pray for the outcome and for our current officials.
Pray that we as Christians will continue to express and act on the Bible’s teachings about morality!
