Atheists have long been on the war path against private Christian education.
Now left-wing activists have launched a new campaign on the expectation that a potential Biden administration would likely go along.
Their plan is to strip Christian schools and institutions of their accreditation and constitutional rights, effectively ending Christian education in this country.
The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest homosexual advocacy group, is urging the Biden administration to pull the accreditation from Christian colleges and universities that do not reject the Bible’s teachings on marriage and gender.
The organization published its goals for the Biden administration in a document called “Blueprint for Positive Change.”
The 22-page brief specifically targets Christian institutions and could have a major impact on religious and faith-based schools.
Accrediting agencies are currently required to ensure their standards “respect the stated mission of the institution of higher education,” including a school’s religious mission, under the Higher Education Opportunity Act.
The Human Rights Campaign argues that the Act requires accrediting agencies “to accredit religious institutions that discriminate or that do not meet science-based curricula standards.”
Gay rights activists use what they call “science-based” standards to legitimize homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and gender identity.
HRC says the Department of Education should clarify provisions in the Higher Education Opportunity Act and refuse to allow the accreditation of religious institutions “that do not meet neutral accreditation standards including nondiscrimination policies and scientific curriculum requirements.”
The attempt to pull accreditation from Christian schools is a “sinister” act, says Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
The HRC, he said, is “effectively calling for religious colleges and schools to be coerced into the sexual revolution or stripped of accreditation.”
“… In terms of accreditation, that is an atomic bomb.”
Mohler says HRC is attempting to get the Biden administration to deny accreditation to any Christian college, university or institution that “does not meet the demands of the LGBTQ orthodoxy.”
“This would mean abandoning biblical standards for teaching, hiring, admissions, housing, and student life,” he said.
“It would mean that Christian schools are no longer Christian.”
Biden is forecasted to be the “most extreme” pro-choice and pro-LGBT administration to date.
While Christians have gained significant ground in the fight for religious liberty under President Donald Trump, Mohler said Biden and LGBT activists are an “open threat to the ability of Christian colleges and schools to operate by Christian conviction.”
“This is an outright attempt to eliminate religious freedom for Christian schools — or for any religious school that refuses to bow to the moral revolutionaries at the Human Rights Campaign,” he said.
“… This is an undisguised attempt to shut down any semblance of a Christian college or university that would possess the audacity to operate from a Christian worldview.”
