There’s nothing sweeter than a child hearing the Gospel and deciding to follow Jesus.
So when 216 children accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at one Vacation Bible School, heaven rejoiced!
And once you hear how all of this happened, your heart is bound to be touched and encouraged at the power of God.
7 Hills Church puts on an annual Summer Fest, which is essentially a short summer camp for children in the first to sixth grade.
It’s a beautiful time to gather together each year and share the life-saving truth of the Gospel.
And this year is even more special, as many kids are attending church activities for the first time since COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
Of course, the hope of anyone leading a Vacation Bible School is to make the name of Jesus known, praying the power of His Word will touch at least one lost soul.
But no one ever dreamed that after hearing the Gospel at a local camp, 216 children would give their hearts to Jesus!
Pastor Marcus Mecum of 7 Hills spoke out on the importance of kids knowing who Jesus is.
K-Love reported:
“I’m so proud of our 7 Hills Kids team for putting on our best Summer Fest yet. This past week, hundreds of kids learned who Jesus is and that they are priceless to him,” said lead pastor Marcus Mecum.
“After a year marked by isolation and significant loss, children need to be reminded that God knows us, hears us and chooses us each and every day.”
Is there anything more beautiful?
Our current culture may work overtime to pervert the Gospel and attempt to lead others astray, but the power of God’s Word proves yet again it is stronger than any scheme of the enemy.
And just like there are children coming to Christ in record numbers, there are just as many children who are boldly sharing their faith – regardless the cost.
Like the sweet 8-year-old girl who got in trouble by her school simply for wearing a mask that said “Jesus Loves Me.”
Our Lord loves the little children and nothing pleases Him more than seeing the little ones come to Him!
So if you’re planning a Vacation Bible School this year at your church – be encouraged!
While we never know how God is working in an individual’s heart – we can rest in the truth that His Word never returns void, and He is always working and moving.
Continue to pray for the children you will serve this summer, that they may come to know Christ in a real and personal way.
And pray for the volunteers and leaders – that they will be bold in sharing the love and truth of the Gospel and be used in a mighty way by God to draw others near to Him.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
