Hollywood has a well-earned reputation of being a secular entity completely opposed to any sense of wholesome family values.
And while their scantily-clad and brazen “stars” often highlight this reputation – there actually are Christians working in Hollywood.
Like a bright light shining through the darkness, just wait until you hear how these Christians have held fast to their faith and values while working in such a difficult field.
Chad Michael Murray admitted he’s had some scripts cross his desk that he wasn’t comfortable taking due to his faith – so he didn’t.
He also publicly shared the spiritual disciplines he uses every single day to remain strong – such as morning devotionals and putting on the full armor of God.
Fox News reported:
“I get up every day and I put that spiritual armor on, read the Bible and do some devotionals and then get ready to go to work,” Murray told Fox News Digital…
“I feel stronger and safer walking onto my sets every day knowing that I have God with me every day. Jesus is there with me every day,” he said before adding, “When you have that comfort that you just feel safe, you feel different, you feel the opportunity to handle more, your shoulders are bigger, you can carry more weight.”
What a beautiful encouragement!
While so many Hollywood stars get caught up in scandals or use their position to promote secular causes, Chad Michael Murray is doing the opposite – even though he knows it could alienate him from his peers or cost him future roles.
But he’s not the only one.
Candace Cameron Bure has long used her voice to advocate for conservative values – especially when it comes to abortion.
When speaking on behalf of unborn babies – Candace boldly proclaimed her determination to fight to protect life.
Live Action reported:
“I’m an advocate for the unheard voice. These are unborn voices. They cannot defend themselves, and I will always defend them.”
Praise the Lord!
With so many women believing abortion is a sign of “empowerment” for – Candace uses her influence to let women know there’s always another choice.
Likewise, her brother Kirk Cameron is also a devout Christian – and not afraid to talk about God.
Kirk shared his transformation and how God had always been there even when he didn’t yet know who He was.
“I started going to church more often, I began to read the Bible and it began to change me on the inside,” he added. “A minister friend of mine once said to me,’ Kirk, if anybody ever asks you, how did you find God in Hollywood? He said, ‘let me remind you, you didn’t find God. He wasn’t lost. You were, and He found you.’ And I think that’s a perfect description.”
God uses each person in a different way to make His name known.
May each of us serve where we are called – and use our talents to glorify God.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
