Each of us go through different seasons in life and some are more difficult than others.
After a few life blows, even the most faithful followers of Jesus can find themselves in a dry season of bewilderment and wonder where their passion has gone.
So what do you do when you feel like your faith is failing?
Remember – Your Feelings Aren’t In Charge
It’s good to acknowledge how you feel – but remember your feelings aren’t in charge.
Our emotions are funny things – they can lead us to really “believe” something even if it’s not true.
Thankfully, our source for direction is the Bible, a compass that guides us and tells us the truth.
Our faith is more than a “feeling” – it is putting trust in the One who never changes.
Take The Next Step Of Faith
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7
Often times taking the next step of faith will help get you back on track.
This could be something simple like listening to worship music, praying to God, and restarting your devotionals . . .
. . . or perhaps something deeper like talking to a Pastor or trusted Christian counselor about why you feel “stuck”.
God meets us where we are, and He honors those who seek to find Him with their whole hearts.
Take the next step of faith and watch Him work!
Do An Inventory Of Your Life
And finally, if you feel like your faith is failing – pay attention to how you are spending your time.
Do you have spiritual disciplines you follow like fasting, daily devotionals, and prayer?
Or do you spend your time binging on fast food or a trashy Netflix series?
What we feed our body, mind, and soul really does matter.
If you are feeling dry and worn out, remember God is our source and we need to be connected to Him in order to thrive.
The tough seasons in life will come and they can knock even the strongest person down.
But what matters most is standing back up and taking the next step of faith knowing God’s Word is true and His promise to multiply our faith will keep us trusting in Him more.
Have you ever been in a season where you felt “stuck”?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
