Pastor Dr. Tony Evans is of mighty faith whose influence in the modern Christian movement is highly evident.
Beyond his church ministries, his home life has become a publicized ministry nearly as powerful.
Mr. Evans’ wife, Mrs. Lois Evans, is now fighting round two against a deadly gallbladder cancer.
Now they have just one request for those who hear this troubling news:
“Kingdom Men Rising” has just appeared on movie screens across the nation, calling men to rise from the lies of this world and become Men of God’s Army.
Oak Cliff Bible Church, where Dr. Tony Evans is the pastor, is involved in community revival around the nation.
Families across the globe have experienced new life through the materials and teachings of the Evans family. Yet even with all of this “goodness” outpouring from the Evans’ front porch, they are not above tragedy.
Mrs. Lois has already battled gallbladder cancer, and won a first round.
Sometime thereafter, Dr. Evans’ niece Wynter Evans Pitts passed away totally unexpectedly, leaving behind a husband and young children.
The Evans family has been in hardships that are enough to tire their strength beyond repair.
While still grieving this loss, only eight months later, doctors discovered this new cancer formation in Mrs. Evans during a routine checkup.
Dr. Evans is already aware that there is only one way that he and anyone else in his family has held together this far, and that One Strength is the only thing that will get them through now.
“My faith is being tested in a way I’ve never experienced … But I trust God. I choose to believe — our whole family is choosing to believe that, even now, He knows what He is doing.”
He is not unaffected by any means. His heart aches and many tears have been shed. He loves his wife dearly.
But he will not let the stress of hopelessness overwhelm himself, or his wife, or their children.
He knows it is not a hopeless case, because we serve the God of Hope. He is Sovereign. And one characteristic the Evans are praying towards heavily: He is the Almighty Healer.
As they pray, the Evans family is searching for God’s provision toward this healing through whatever means He makes available.
Dr. Evans says they are “need[ing] God to intervene as we continue our search for an effective treatment. We are going to trust God in the dark for a solution, and we are asking you to fervently pray to that end.”
The Evans family is asking all who hear about their struggle to include them in their prayers.
One massive blessing is already being experienced and Dr. and Mrs. Evans are attributing this to God’s acting on their behalf, in response to the love and countless prayers of saints around them.
You see, while this cancer can be a very painful experience, Lois is not experiencing any bit of pain up to this point.
The announcement to Oak Cliff Bible Church came on April 2nd, 2019. By the 25th, Dr. Evans was given a metaphor to share their journey experiences with other hurting hearts:
“When there’s a storm, you tune in to whoever has the information on what you need to do in the midst of bad weather. You turn on the radio, flip on the TV, or scroll through social media to get the information you need to stay informed and to stay safely out of harm’s way.”
The Evans are choosing to tune in to God’s Voice, day and night at highest frequency.
In fact, through that priority, the Evans have even been able to share about another hidden blessing along this tragedy. Both Dr. and Mrs. Evans recognize “the time [we] have spent in waiting rooms and doctor’s offices is a gift and an opportunity to grow faith in God.”
Pray for the Evans family.
Specifically, seek God’s favor to lead them to the exact answers that will bring healing quickly and efficiently.
Pray for His mercy that their answer will not stagnate them from the move of God they desire to keep pouring into the earth.
Pray God uses this story in a mighty way, in every aspect of their journey, for the furthering of His Kingdom.
Also, pray for peace and continued painlessness for Mrs. Evans as she battles this illness for the second time. Pray she is victorious, and leads a throng in Hallelujah to our Healer. Amen.
For further support, any who know the family, have been touched by their ministry, or feel a special call from God are welcome to another encouragement.
