As the world reacts to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade – the true colors of people’s hearts are beginning to show.
While most Christians rejoice at the news – there are others who identify with the faith community who are singing a different tune.
And once you hear the out-of-touch and horrific comments from one CNN contributor on why abortion should still be legal at the federal level, you’re bound to be horrified.
To start – while overturning Roe v. Wade was an important step for the pro-life movement – the battle is far from over.
Although there may no longer be a Constitutional “right” to abortion – each state gets to decide their own abortion laws – and pro-abort states like California and New York are all but certain to double-down on making abortion as accessible as possible.
Yet still, the left is losing their minds at the thought of not being able to simply kill a baby like they once could.
And in the media, pure hysteria is taking place – with many folks who claim to be “pro-woman” voicing all the reasons why they think abortion should still be legal.
For CNN contributor Ana Navarro, she has members in her own family with both intellectual and physical disabilities.
But instead of advocating for their lives – she exploits their disabilities as a reason why she thinks it’s okay to kill an unborn baby.
Fox News reported:
“I am not anybody to tell you what you need to do with your life or with your uterus.” She then mentioned special needs people in her family, saying, “I have a family with a lot of special needs kids. I have a brother who’s 57 and has the mental and motor skills of a one-year-old. And I know what that means financially, emotionally, physically for a family. And I know not all families can do it.”
She also spoke of her “step-granddaughter who was born with Down syndrome” and her “step-grandson who is very autistic, who has autism,” adding that it is “difficult” for their families to “get services.”
Navarro continued on with her angry rant and switched gears to her faith. She claimed that although she is Catholic “inside the church” – she believes outside the church, women can kill their own babies if they want to.
The CNN clip continued:
“And so why can I be Catholic and still think this is a wrong decision? Because I’m American.
I’m Catholic inside the church. I’m Catholic when it comes to me. But there’s a lot of Americans who are not Catholic and are not Christian and are not Baptist.
And you have no d*** right to tell them what they should do with their bodies. Nobody does.”
Wow.
As Christians, we know our faith doesn’t stop within the walls of the church – it’s a way of life.
The Catholic Church is clear that abortion is a sin – and killing an unborn life is not acceptable.
Yet there many people using their faith to justify abortion.
President Biden and Nancy Pelosi are two prominent examples of politicians who claim to be Catholic yet advocate for the killing of unborn babies.
In fact, Nancy Pelosi was recently denied communion due to her insistence on using her position of power to advocate for the killing of unborn babies.
Every child is a gift from God and deserves the right to be born.
Regardless if they have an intellectual or physical disability – each baby was created for a purpose – and to even hint that abortion is okay if they have a disability is morally wrong on so many levels – and shows the depravity of the human heart.
We must continue to pray for those who are deceived – that God will open their eyes to the truth so they can turn from evil and embrace justice.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
