The Chinese Communist Party just issued another major blow against Christians and you won’t believe what they’ve done now.
In their latest move to control the flow of information and promote their communist agenda, they’ve banned Bible apps from being downloaded.
But what the Chinese government fails to realize is that despite their heavy-handed tactics and desperate attempts to silence Christians – the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to be preached and a spiritual revival is rising up all throughout China.
It’s clear the Chinese government is becoming increasingly alarmed or they wouldn’t be trying to stifle Christianity.
Not only did they ban Bible apps from being downloaded, but they’ve restricted Christian social media accounts on the platform WeChat.
International Christian Concern reported:
“According to a tweet by Father Francis Liu from the Chinese Christian Fellowship of Righteousness, some decent Christian WeChat accounts are no longer available online. A few snapshots of Christian accounts’ landing page such as “Gospel League” and “Life Quarterly” no longer show any content.
Instead, a message reads “[We] received report that [this account] violates the ‘Internet User Public Account Information Services Management Provisions’ and its account has been blocked and suspended” is shown.
In the meantime, Bible Apps have been removed from App Store in China, while Bibles in hard copy are not available for sale online. Those who want to download Bible Apps have to use VPN to circumvent the Firewall.”
But even after all this, underground churches in China are thriving.
But meeting underground is dangerous – and comes with the real possibility of torture or even death.
The truth is, Chinese Christians suffer unthinkable persecution at the hands of a radical Communist Chinese government – and it’s only getting worse.
One pastor was fined 200,000 yuan (roughly $30,000) for simply offering his chapel as a place for Catholics to gather.
The government accused him of “illegal religious activities” and of violating the state-sanctioned church’s “principles.”
But it’s not just excessive fines threatening the livelihood of Christians.
Ruthless communist officials have resorted to psychological torture and brainwashing tactics by keeping Christians in solitary confinement for months hoping to break their spirit and have them denounce Christ.
But despite the Chinese government’s heavy-handed tactics, underground churches are thriving with more and more souls coming to Christ!
What the government doesn’t understand is that Christians are willing to die for their faith.
It’s going to take a lot more than banning a Bible app and the sale of online Bibles to stop the spread of the Gospel.
Let us continue to keep our Chinese brothers and sisters in prayer – praying they will hold fast to the Gospel and stay strong during immense persecution.
To God be the glory.
