As Christians, we know life begins at conception, and abortion is never an option.
But some who profess Jesus as Lord claim they also believe abortion is a “woman’s right.”
And for Maya, although she grew up in the Catholic church knowing abortion was wrong – she fiercely defended a woman’s “right to choose” – even getting an abortion herself. Until one day everything changed.
Maya recalls during a youth group event at church she had a strong reaction to a peer’s shirt which read: “One Heart Stops, Another Heart Breaks,” reported Live Action.
To Maya – it wasn’t possible to even think a woman could regret her abortion because she truly believed supporting abortion was being “pro-woman” and it made her angry to think anyone would assume different.
So when she became pregnant herself, she got an abortion, feeling relief right after.
But then it struck her.
As regret started to set in, she realized that by getting an abortion and ending the life of her growing baby, she truly did stop a beating heart.
And this grieved her, more than she ever realized was possible.
She then realized she had been on the wrong side all these years in her quest to defend abortion.
Overcome with trauma, she sought healing through a pro-life Catholic ministry called Rachel’s Vineyard.
Maya shared how she was always aware of this ministry growing up, and even admitted she used to get upset seeing them advertise.
But now, she was the one who needed them.
Live Action reported:
“It’s pretty ironic because growing up in the church, you would see Rachel’s Vineyard advertisements in the local bulletin, and that would make me mad too.
Like, women don’t regret abortion, why are they perpetuating this false narrative, as the pro-aborts say.
And yet here I was, now finally utilizing this service after my own abortion.”
Praise God, Maya has come to know the truth!
So many people proclaim to profess Jesus, but advocate for abortion.
Even Catholic leaders warned President Biden to stop hiding behind his “Catholic faith” while advocating to expand abortion.
In addition, it’s sad Maya had to learn the hard way, but she experienced firsthand just how traumatic abortion really is.
So many women mistakenly think when they step foot inside an abortion provider, they will walk out unscathed.
But the truth is, many of them feel a deep sense of regret and remorse knowing they can never get back the life of their baby.
God can heal all wounds, but it does take many of these women years to fully heal.
Maya uses her pain to talk to others before they walk inside an abortion clinic hoping to stop them from making the same mistake she did.
And as Christians, it is our sacred duty to speak up for unborn babies and defend their right to have life.
They are truly the most vulnerable of society because they can’t yet advocate for themselves.
God is the Author of life, and every life is created by Him, for a purpose.
May we all boldly stand for life!
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
