Liberals claim that abortion is an “essential” procedure and are fighting to keep abortion clinics open even amidst the pandemic.
While some states have succeeded in shutting down abortion facilities – saving countless lives from being snuffed out in the womb – others have kept them going.
But even in states where abortion is considered “essential,” babies are being saved at astounding rates.
And it’s all due to one simple change brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Abortion Pill Rescue Network is an organization that helps women reverse their abortions. That’s right, the process of abortion can be undone in some cases!
“From the moment a woman takes the abortion pill, she has about 72 hours to change her mind and save her baby,” the ministry wrote.
“No woman should ever feel forced to finish an abortion she regrets,” according to the Rescue Network – and their ministry exists to help such women in crisis.
The network offers a 24/7 hotline that fields critical calls from women who wish to reverse their abortions.
And throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the hotline has received a record number of calls!
“We are now seeing over 80% of our callers start the reversal process,” said Andrea Trudden, the communications director for the network’s parent organization, Heartbeat International.
In the month of March alone, 105 mothers who called the network’s hotline started the process to stop their chemically induced abortions after taking the abortion pill (RU-486).
According to Trudden, RU-486 blocks hormones needed to sustain a pregnancy. A second abortion pill, Misoprostol, causes contractions to aid the passing of pregnancy tissue.
“If a mother who changes her mind after beginning [this process of] chemical abortion receives supplemental progesterone before taking the second pill, there is a chance to save the baby’s life and continue with a normal pregnancy,” the Rescue Network wrote.
“The abortion industry has attempted to discredit the abortion pill reversal process and is using the pandemic to push for expanding dangerous telemedicine abortions,” the organization continued.
Currently, many abortion clinics are offering drive-up or remote appointments to provide women with chemical abortion pills to end their pregnancies at home.
It’s marketed as an “easy solution” to the “problem” of an unwanted pregnancy, but it’s incredibly dangerous for expectant mothers. In fact, women have experienced life-threatening complications and even died from taking the abortion pill.
And right now, many women are experiencing immediate regret upon seeking these pills.
Trudden said that the increase in hotline calls most likely stems from stay-at-home orders and the ensuing abortion clinic closures across the country.
“We understand this is a stressful time for many, and some women are starting chemical abortion because that is the only option they can see,” Trudden said.
“[Many of our recent calls are coming from] the abortion facility parking lot or from the car on the drive home because the regret is immediate.”
These women are finding help and saving their babies through the ministry of the Abortion Pill Rescue Network!
And it turns out that, despite the hardships of the pandemic, God is still working to protect babies and save lives.
The Rescue Network is part of a larger organization, Heartbeat International, which is a nationwide network of pro-life pregnancy resource centers.
Heartbeat International’s vision “is to make abortion unwanted today and unthinkable for future generations.”
“[We seek] to reach and rescue as many lives as possible, around the world, through an effective network of life-affirming pregnancy help, to renew communities for life,” Heartbeat wrote.
By providing medical, financial, and emotional resources to mothers in crisis, Heartbeat serves communities “with honesty, integrity, and equality.”
“Every four minutes, a baby is saved,” says the ministry, and they’re hopeful that their work will continue to expand in the coming years.
Heartbeat International also manages OptionLine, a bilingual pro-life contact center, and Pregnancy Help News, a news service focused on providing up-to-date information about legislative milestones and current events related to the pro-life cause.
Praise God for the comprehensive ministry of this organization! Heartbeat International has joined other pro-life organizations in valiantly defending life amid upheaval and uncertainty – and they are seeing the fruits of their labor.
Let’s pray that, even throughout the struggles and hardships of this pandemic, mothers continue to choose life for their unborn children. And let’s look for ways to be involved in this massive pro-life movement.
