Yet again, Hobby Lobby finds themselves in the midst of public scorn for their latest published ad.
But what did they write that was so offensive?
Well, it had to do with an American flag and a Bible verse – and just wait until you see the backlash they faced for daring to speak the name of Christ.
During the 4th of July weekend, Hobby Lobby ran a simple ad featuring a child running with an American flag.
Under the picture it said “One nation under God,” with a reference to Psalm 33:12, which states, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”
The full-page ad then listed a series of quotes from U.S. lawmakers to Supreme Court Justices showing how America truly was founded upon Christianity and has religious roots.
Even more beautiful, the bottom of the ad listed a place where people could find out what it means to be a Christian, and even a website to download a free Bible for one’s mobile phone!
How beautiful.
A person reading the ad who might have questions now has the tools to further find out what God says through His Word.
Praise God for freedom of speech!
But some people and organizations didn’t like Hobby Lobby reminding us all that America was founded upon Christianity.
And they certainly didn’t like seeing God’s Word in print and on display.
In fact, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), an atheist organization, became so enraged when they saw the ad – they launched their own rebuttal site!
They titled their page ‘In Hobby Lobby We Don’t Trust.’
The entire website seeks to debunk every single quote listed showcasing America’s Christian roots.
When it came to Psalm 33:12, FFRF claimed the verse was “irrelevant” and that no one should care about “a text written thousands of years ago.”
But what they fail to understand is Christians know God’s Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Christians around the world are willing to die for the Word of God, so to claim it is irrelevant simply isn’t true.
And while atheists can try and argue that church and state are “separate,” Christians know they aren’t.
Even Florida Governor Ron DeSantis acknowledged this and instituted a moment of silence in public schools so Christians could have the freedom to pray.
Atheists can hate God’s Word and deny its power.
They can pretend America wasn’t founded with deep Christian roots.
Leftist politicians and organizations can do everything to discredit the power of God’s Word…
… but we know as Christians God’s Word never returns void.
Cheers to Hobby Lobby for having the courage to make the name of Jesus known to a dying world!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
