Imagine worshiping our Lord and Savior with your family at a prayer gathering when all of a sudden an angry mob launches flash bombs and shoots pepper spray at your children.
Christians in Portland, Oregon recently experienced the unthinkable when Antifa attacked their worship gathering.
And once you hear the details of what happened, you’re bound to be horrified.
What started off as a peaceful event to worship Jesus turned into a vicious attack.
Canadian Pastor Artur Pawlowski decided to organize a large prayer gathering event in Portland, Oregon to bring Christians together.
You may remember the story of Artur who was arrested (along with his brother) and dragged down the highway in Canada for not “obeying” COVID-19 safety measures.
When Antifa got word Pastor Pawlowski and other Christians were set to gather in Portland, they were determined to scare them away.
The surprise attack startled Christians as they worshiped God, and they watched helplessly as Antifa became aggressive and violent, taunting the crowd and throwing their sound equipment into the river.
If that wasn’t horrific enough, Antifa then proceeded to throw flash bombs into the crowd and douse the air with pepper spray – not even caring that little children and babies were in the crowd.
CBN News reported:
“A woman attending the event described the group as “ruthless.”
“Antifa just rolled in like an angry mob, started throwing flash bombs at everybody, macing everybody … rotten eggs,” she said. “They threw a flash bomb into a group of kids that were out there from four months old to like 10.”
Another attendee helped Pastor Pawlowski, who was sprayed in the face with mace.
“Walked up to ask them to stop throwing things at the children,” the man explained. “There’s kids down there, I mean they’re toddlers and they sprayed me too.”
Such hatred and violence towards peaceful Christians is unacceptable.
One can’t even begin to imagine the fear and trauma these children (and likely their parents) experienced after such a terrifying attack.
It’s one thing if those who deny Jesus want to hold a peaceful “protest” to express their views, but nothing should ever escalate to what took place in Portland.
According to those who were there, police did not get involved and no arrests were made.
Our nation has hit a new low when peaceful Christians cannot even gather together to worship Jesus without the threat of facing such horror.
And to be cruel enough to attack children is beyond heartbreaking.
As Christians, we must continue to pray for the healing of our land.
Satan may be ruler of the things of this world, but the power of Jesus Christ is stronger.
May Christians stand strong against all persecution – which is sure to get worse as those who hate Christ continue to be influenced by the enemy.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
