When this scared, young teen got pregnant, she thought getting an abortion was the only way to escape her abusive relationship and hide the pregnancy from her parents.
But after she experienced the loss of her little baby literally being sucked out of her, she was never the same.
Ever since that day, this young woman lived with so much internal pain that she wanted to die – until Jesus intervened.
There’s nothing more unnatural than ripping a baby from its mother’s womb.
God is the author of life, and every life comes from Him.
And anytime we go against His perfect design, pain is inevitable.
This young teen thought she could make all her “problems” go away by choosing abortion.
But sadly, she was tricked into believing the lie so many other women believe – that abortion can “fix” one’s life.
On the day of her abortion, in addition to experiencing crippling fear and anxiety, she described the procedure as the “worst pain” of her entire life.
After it was over, she tried to move on with her life and go to college, but the emotional pain would not leave her.
This is what trauma does.
It changes us to the core – but until we deal with it, further pain will continue.
Years later, this young woman attended a “Surrendering the Secret” post-abortion class after hearing one woman tell her post-abortion story.
It was at this moment that she accepted Jesus and finally entered the recovery process.
Her healing journey continued with many tears and pain as God allowed her to be broken in order to let His healing love heal her.
Then, 30 years after her abortion, she attended a post-abortion healing retreat and had the most incredible breakthrough.
She named her daughter and acknowledged her life – and while she knew she could never get her back, she was confident Jesus would make all things right one day.
Live Action reported:
“I cried a lot during the retreat, but they were healing tears. I was so thankful to acknowledge my daughter’s birthday in heaven. At the end, I received a printed acknowledgement of life with my daughter’s name on it. I felt as though that gave my daughter dignity and citizenship.
The fact that I will never know where her remains are makes me sad, but everything will be made right when Jesus returns.
Now, I want to dedicate the rest of my life to ending abortion in our nation and the world.”
The healing power of Jesus to restore lives is beautiful.
Sin happens in this world, and there are consequences, but His grace is greater and unending.
He promises to forgive us for our sins when we confess and repent, and He reminds us over and over in His Word that He will never leave or forsake us, even and ESPECIALLY in our darkest moments.
And while the story of this young woman started off sad, it ended with her using her personal tragedy and past to help others avoid making the same mistake.
God makes all things new.
Let us take a moment and pray for the women around the world who have had abortions, that they will surrender their pain and find forgiveness and healing in the arms of Jesus.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
