Black Lives Matter vandals seem to roam free across the country, without consequence.
They’ve pulled down statues, set businesses on fire, and destroyed property.
But if you dare speak up for unborn black babies, this is what will happen to you:
Students for Life, a pro-life ministry based in Virginia, recently organized a peaceful protest at one of Planned Parenthood’s Washington, D.C. clinics.
A team of pro-life activists went to the clinic to write a simple but important message on the sidewalk outside.
They chalked “Black Preborn Lives Matter” in order to remind the city that, in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests, the unborn could not and should not be forgotten.
But despite the peaceful and unassuming nature of the activism, D.C. police showed up almost immediately to arrest the students and stop them from completing the message.
“Hey folks, I need to tell you now, that if you continue chalking you’re going to be placed under arrest for defacing property,” said one of the police officers who conducted the arrest.
Never mind that the sidewalk was public property and the chalk was easily removed with water! The two students in charge of the chalk mural were placed under arrest for defacing property.
And the police presence wasn’t the only response to this peaceful effort.
Pro-abortion activists had gathered to harass the pro-life students, and presumably, they had called the police.
“Our students and team members were threatened, harassed, and arrested in front of Planned Parenthood in Washington D.C. for painting ‘All Black Preborn Lives Matter,” Students for Life confirmed.
Thankfully, the two students arrested were soon released, but it was just another confirmation that the D.C. police—and D.C.’s Mayor, Muriel Bowser—are heavily biased against conservative and pro-life voices.
Mayor Bowser herself ordered the “Black Lives Matter” slogan to be painted on the streets of D.C. earlier in the summer.
“In doing this, she proclaimed not only what those of us in the pro-life [community] genuinely believe and fight for every day in front of Planned Parenthoods…across America,” wrote Students for Life.
“She also opened up the streets of Washington, D.C. for public expression.”
Students for Life took this as their cue to express their own beliefs about black lives, and even went above and beyond in asking for a permit to do so.
But even after receiving a permit to chalk “Black Preborn Lives Matter” on public streets and sidewalks, Students for Life faced unfair discrimination.
“[Mayor Bowser] apparently only thinks that SOME Black Lives Matter and that only SOME slogans are allowed to be painted on streets,” the organization concluded.
“Mayor Bowser [has] bought into the eugenic and racist lies that Planned Parenthood sells.”
“She has bought into the lies that only some people have freedom of speech and expression in America, people like her in positions of power, people like her who pride themselves on their ‘wokeness.’”
It’s clear that Bowser—and other D.C. officials—are only interested in hearing and enabling messages from the left.
“It is unacceptable for those in positions of authority to use their power to silence the voices of those they disagree with,” Students for Life urged.
“We are tired of our voices not being heard. We are tired of being silenced because we don’t fit the narrative that young people must support the abortion industry.”
“We are tired of having our message suppressed because the abortion industry and their buddy public officials don’t want the world to know that pro-life students exist.”
“Despite censorship efforts from the media and now the government, the pro-life government will not be stopped from sharing this crucial message.”
Along with other pro-life activists and artists, Students for Life intends to keep organizing peaceful demonstrations and pop-up events to advocate for black babies in danger.
“How can one advocate that Black Lives Matter while simultaneously stripping Black preborns of their most basic human rights?”
“[Ten] unarmed Black Americans were killed by police in 2019. They have murals all across the country,” commented one pro-life activist, Tayler Hansen, as he reflected on the hypocrisy of Mayor Bowser’s support of Black Lives Matter.
“Almost 400,000 innocent babies were murdered by Planned Parenthood in 2019. It’s about…time they get a mural too.”
Pray for Students for Life and other pro-life organizations as they courageously stand up for the rights of the unborn!
