Bethany Christian Services was once seen as a beacon of light and worked tirelessly to ensure orphaned children were placed into a loving home with a mom and dad who could provide for all their needs.
But instead of holding true to their Christian values, their new leadership has caved to the pressure of the LGBT lobby, and now they’ve allowed the unthinkable.
Instead of placing children into a traditional family unit, they’ve agreed to let LGBT couples gain custody of innocent children through adoption.
Although the organization used to host a public statement claiming, “God’s design for the family is a covenant and lifelong marriage of one man and one woman,” this has since been removed.
With new leadership, comes new ideas.
In 2018, Chris Palusky became the president and CEO of Bethany Christian Services – and decided to lead the 77-year-old organization in a different direction.
Apparently, the board is made up of individuals with “diverse personal views on sexuality” which led the organization to abandon its traditional Christian values and open up adoptions to LGBT couples.
In an email to staff, Palusky announced his new policy.
The New York Times reported:
“We will now offer services with the love and compassion of Jesus to the many types of families who exist in our world today,” Mr. Palusky wrote. “We’re taking an ‘all hands on deck’ approach where all are welcome.”
This means that a gay or lesbian couple can now adopt an innocent child and raise them.
Which means, instead of growing up with a mom and a dad, a child can now be raised by two dads or two moms.
Imagine the confusion this will bring to a young child!
First, having to undergo the trauma of being separated from biological parents, whether they knew them or not, and now being thrust into a dysfunctional home.
While government officials continue to put pressure on organizations to bow down to LGBT policies, solid Christian organizations have resisted the temptation to cave to the pressure, instead deciding to stand on principle.
The Gospel Coalition reported:
“Bethany faced the difficult decision of complying with the state and continuing to serve families—or risk closing its doors. But at the same time another private child-placing agency, St. Vincent Catholic Charities, faced the same choice as Bethany. The difference between the two groups is that St. Vincent refused to bow to an oppressive and unjust state government. Because the Catholic group refused to back down, it won a temporary victory—and retained moral credibility.?”
To have conviction and live out the teachings of Jesus and obey what the Bible says is a true test of a person’s faith.
Make no mistake – the time is coming when every church and Christian organization will be put in the position to either hold true to God’s Word and uphold the traditional family unit, or cave to the pressure of society and adopt the LGBT agenda.
Every true Christian knows God’s Word is clear when it comes to gender – that He created each of us uniquely male and female.
“He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female” – Matthew 19:4.
As society continues to take the wide path which leads to destruction, Christians are commanded to follow the narrow path and remain faithful to God’s teachings.
Albert Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary said it best:
“Love of Christ and obedience to his commands has led Christians throughout the centuries to care for the most vulnerable in society. Christians believe in helping children, and in the case of adoption, to place children in homes with a mother and a father to receive the love and nurture that comes from that God-designed familial environment.
Now, such commitments run contrary to the prevailing mores of the culture, and Bethany Christian Services has sent a clear signal of surrender. They capitulated and abandoned their core Christian convictions in order to stay open for business.”
When the day comes where we must choose between obeying God or following the culture, may we all have the strength to remain strong in His teachings.
