Their parents were in jail.
So Child Protective Services (CPS) hauled off the siblings and their cousin and threw them into the system.
But by God’s grace, one couple made sure all of them could stay together by demonstrating the most incredible act of love.
The children’s Aunt Ruby kept track of these precious children after CPS took them away, making sure she always knew where they were.
And in God’s perfect timing, Ruby and her husband were able to intervene – and give them a forever home.
Argus Leader reported:
“They came a long, long way, they’ve been through so much,” Ruby Celada said. “Kids want to be with their parents, but sometimes they cannot be, because of the choices the parents made.”
Praise the Lord, Ruby and her husband were determined to not let these children grow up in the system – so they adopted them!
All six of them!
To make things even more challenging, all six children have ADHD – and one has autism as well.
Raising children with special needs and who have experienced emotional trauma and neglect can be especially challenging.
But nonetheless, these siblings (and their cousin) can now safely grow up in a family who loves and supports them.
Argus Leader continued:
“The couple walked into the Minnehaha Courthouse to finalize the adoption of their family Wednesday afternoon. They wore matching outfits with each child’s name on their shirt and the date of adoption.”
In a video shared with the Argus Leader by the family, Avery Celada is seen hugging his new dad and saying, “I’ll take good care of you,” during the adoption hearing.”
What a heartwarming story.
Let us pray for Ruby and her husband – that God will equip them with His supernatural power and wisdom to minister to their children and help them adjust to being in a secure, loving environment.
Adoption is a beautiful act of love.
After all – before we knew Jesus, we too were orphans without a forever home.
But praise God, those of us who are in Christ have been adopted by our Heavenly Father and are now His children.
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship” – Galatians 4:4-5
Every child deserves a loving and safe home.
Let us pray for those who do not yet have their “forever home” – that God will raise up the perfect parents to care for these orphans, just as we are all commanded to.
If you’re considering adoption – continue to pray that God will open up doors for this to become a reality.
Or, maybe if you are not able to adopt – you can help fund someone who is going through the process.
As for Ruby and her husband’s incredible act of love – we pray God will bless this family and their new life together!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
