With each new day comes another story of the heroes on the front lines of the pandemic.
Healthcare workers, first responders, and many others are giving their all to help communities.
But did you know that some of your favorite Christian ministries are right there with them?
Here’s a list of the important work Christian organizations are doing to help fight COVID-19.
Many of us may feel powerless to help our communities, our country, and our world right now, but we can join the fight by praying for and supporting these crucial ministries!
Here are five Christian ministries that are currently helping in the fight against the coronavirus.
1. Samaritan’s Purse
Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization, is directly on the front lines of the pandemic in New York City.
With thousands infected and hundreds of new cases each day, the city has been brought to its knees by the virus, but Samaritan’s Purse is bringing hope with a field hospital in Central Park.
The ministry is also operating a respiratory care unit in Cremona, Italy, the site of one of the first COVID-19 outbreaks.
Doctors, nurses, and other trained medical personnel are working day and night to ensure that struggling patients get the care they need, and hospitals in Italy and New York are beyond grateful for their assistance.

2. World Vision
World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization that helps communities “overcome poverty and injustice,” is focusing its current efforts on providing essential supplies to those affected by COVID-19.
The ministry is responding to critical needs around the world, shipping protective equipment to health works, providing hand sanitizer and emergency food to families, and equipping communities with crucial health training.
World Vision is also taking every opportunity to train Christian leaders around the world in effective response and evangelism techniques, realizing that faith leaders can often guide their communities in times of crisis.

3. Convoy of Hope
Convoy of Hope is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to “[empowering] others to live with greater independence and freedom from poverty, disease, and hunger.”
Right now, Convoy of Hope is focused on providing meals and critical resources to those impacted by unemployment, school closures, and consequent food insecurity in America and around the globe.
The ministry is also working with churches around the country through an initiative called “Boxes of Hope.” The program seeks to help church members who are struggling to provide for their family’s basic needs.

4. International Justice Mission
International Justice Mission is a ministry dedicated to ending human trafficking and bringing justice to all parts of the world.
Human trafficking has not paused, even with the pandemic, so IJM is still freeing victims and putting traffickers behind bars, but the organization has also stepped up to provide crucial education and help to communities bound by poverty.
Currently, IJM is investing resources into educating rural communities, which have little to no access to news media, about the nature and spread of the coronavirus.
IJM workers are teaching safe handwashing practices and other health standards as well as advocating for those disproportionately affected by the virus.

5. Water Mission
Water Mission is a faith-centered nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water to impoverished communities around the world.
Right now, clean water is essential in halting the spread of the coronavirus. Medical staff and rural communities are in desperate need of safe water and creative hygiene solutions as disease spreads.
The ministry writes, “Without safe water, clinics and hospitals cannot safely and effectively care for patients. The spread of viruses and rise of complications…become significant.”
Water Mission is currently providing hygiene and medical supplies as well as clean water to the communities most in need.

Consider giving to one of these ministries if you’re able to, and if you’re not able to give right now, please remember to pray for these ministries and their important work.
At a time when the world needs help and hope, they’re being Christ’s hands and feet!
